NonStopErotik is an excellent song. The production is much better than Honeycomb, and the song is much more honed and interesting. Not dashed off. I think it has depth which was a little lacking on Seven Fingers. |

As some others, I appreciated more NSE after a good bunch of listenings.
At first, I thought the song was something totally depressive, squalid. I don't know the lyrics so far but that's what the mood of the song suggested to me. Really, dark, depressing, morose. Horrible, arg! I wasn't expecting that at all. Am I the only one who had this experience with NSE? Like if it was a very old man's song.
This and Wheels make a kinda weird introduction to the album for me... I am curious about the rest. It seems there are good arrangements, good playing, and a soul to it... I could like this, but so far I don't know. It's special, and for this reason I'm waiting for the other tracks and my interest to be fed more before having a proper opinion. |

Something I just noticed about that song is how good the voice take is (are?) It's THE take, you cant imagine anything better at any moment. Could you imagine Brian Wilson missing a note on a classic bb song? Well, that's the strange feeling I had sometimes on FMRM or the catholic records ( of course those records were looking for spontaneity first, but I definitely see Frank more like a master of pop than a spontaneous songwriter like Richman or Young). |

Is the song 'Six Legged Man' a reference to the practise of 'spit roasting' where two men simultaneously insert their penises into a woman from either end? (c.f. 'the beast with two backs')
Do all of the songs on the album contain sexual innuendos, and were you inspired to write this album whilst fornicating? |

The subject of drugs isn't relevant on a rock'n'roll album with a sexually suggestive title??? |

I should just mention, that image is pretty offensive as it is objectifying/derogatory towards women |

No because she's got saggy tits, and no-one wants to objectify women like that. In reality it is both an attempt at school boy humour AS WELL as a bittersweet take on life in the noughties. Sadly, in order for this sort of thing to happen, the women must adopt the position of a shank of meat. There is no other way, cruel to be kind they say.
Immaturity aside, I do really like this 6 legged man song. Not so keen on Wheels or NSE though. 6LM is quite trompe le mondey, and that is totally OK in IMO |

'someone take the high road, someone take the low note, someone take the middle, something something second fiddle' - lyrics from 6LM that i just tried to translate.
Something else about forming a band, so maybe it's just about a music band with three guys in it.
Maybe there is nothing sexual about the lyrics of this album at all, but why is it called non stop erotic? I don't understand, why is why it becomes automatically more interesting. |

Its called NSE because some of the record is themed that way. However, there was a record called Black Letter Days and not all the songs were about the mundane. There was a record called Pistolero that was not all about gunslingers. It is a part of the record, but it is not the only influence there.

Brian gets inside information from Black Francis and his affiliates. He moderates the site and puts together a great podcast for the fans to enjoy. Show a little respect. |

Because just in this page you posted an offensive image that depicts two men degrading a woman (one is drinking a beer for christsake), and then you once again questioned the legitimacy of a serious poster here. I fear that this behaviour, as Ziggy said is driving away posters from the site. But this thread shouldn't turn into a fight, so i'm going to withdraw from this discussion now. |

I think you are talking out of your ass, and possibly ziggy too.
Ask yourself this. If Mr Black Francis clocked on and look at this thread, and saw my stupid pic. Would he be offended? Do you think he might find it amusing? I'd like to think so.
It's just a cartoon drawing.
If you find that kind of thing offensive then you're a dickwad.
I found it slightly arousing myself. Well actually, not that one, another I drew before that is more NON RELATED. |

In preparation for our interview/podcast, i've had the record for close to two months. So yeah, i suppose that's "inside" info.

You clearly put a lot of effort into it. Have you run out of Lord Monkton speeches to toss off to? |

I don't see why this is degrading the woman? Are you suggesting that the lady in that picture isn't consenting to what is happening? People in the picture are smiling, it looks like they are all having fun. If it is degrading her then why is she choosing to do it, surely she is getting something out of it? And if the act is degrading why is it degrading just the woman and not either or the men? If it was one man and 2 women would that be degrading to the man and not the woman?
Edit: For the record I don't know if the image is particularly appropriate for this discussion nor do I particularly like it but this attitude that it is degrading just seems a bit patronising towards women, like they are unable to enjoy sex or something.

You're a good man, Brank. And yes, i do think that posts like that drive people away. Not to name names, but a few people here have seriously limited my posting here over the last year or so. And i have a vested interest in this site's success. But to keep my blood pressure down/integrity up, i keep my mouth shut 9 times out of 10.
