Yeah, it wasn't quite what I'd built it up to be..

Thanks from here also. I actually quite like this track, sounds like a more chilled version of 'every time i go round'... hopefully there will be some some upbeat stuff also!

Although I love the richness of the production! Really looking forward to the rest.

To me the production is a bit sappy, it's kind of like honeycomb but with strings on it. Still, I'm going to try and withhold judgement because maybe the track works better in context with the rest of the album.
And if not, there's always Der Golem coming out shortly which sounds like it'll be my cup of tea

I like it a lot more after a few listens. It's hardly a classic, but I bet it'll sound lovely in the context of the album.

Also sounds like it's had a lot more time spent on it than 'Honeycomb'. Beautifully mixed too!

I won't lie to you: I've heard the whole album and NSE is probably the most upbeat song of all. The rest is mostly ambient type stuff.

Right, I lied. The whole album is a tribute to Scorpions. NSE is Frank's own "Still Loving You" and the rest is hair-metal stuff.

Feel better now?

Questions:

. Lake of Sin = The Water (some of you probably know this by now?)?
. Frank's very prolific songwriter and seems to work very quickly. Does Frank call all the shots, regarding the songs that are left out, how much input did you have on this record (and on his other records) regarding these sort of things, picking apart the a-sides from the b-sides, figuring out the order of the songs on the record, etc.

in the song nonstoperotik - do you use
1) real strings (violins?)
2) keyboard strings
3) vst strings (midi)?
?
you don't have to answer honestly...

Not a question but a remark: I see more and more artists releasing their stuff on vinyl and including either a CD or a code to download the album. Latest example: Tindersticks (on Constellation). I think it's the best way of making people buy records, plus FB albums DESERVE to be released on vinyl. Please!

BTW, is NSE released on another label for the USA or just on CV for the world?

And Idalgo, those strings on nonstoperotic are definitely not real thats for sure. Although they sound nice enough.

Questions...

(1) For Charles: Did the studios/ghosts have an influence on your songwriting (or on the sound you ended up going for), or did you already have the songs in mind?
(2) For Eric Drew Feldman: What was the process like on this album? What's different/most interesting when working with Charles? Did you have a specific sound in mind from the beginning?
(3) Can you guys tell us a little bit about the other musicians involved?
(4) Most memorable moment from these sessions?
(5) What was it that made you realize it was time to get the fuck out fast?

Can you please post it? I think sending mp3s to certain members is a marketing strategy they're using to get people excited, so it probably wouldnt be an issue

I'm excited too when I hear that song, in the vein of the upbeat songs that were on Svn Fngrs.

Re: Nonstoperotik.mp3 - sounds an awful lot like BF has been listening to Paulo Conte recently, can definetley hear similarities between NSE and the Paulo Conte song Max. Sweeping strings, hushed tones etc.
I am really looking forward to Der Golem, i liked bad news and the live cuts from the podcast. Not really feeling the NSE mp3. I hope the record is a bit more upbeat.

nonstoperotic remind me more "jealous guy" by lennon than paolo conte songs that have often a jazzy rythm...
I received "wheels" in my mailbox... indeed it's a bit more upbeat

FYI, guys, Six-Legged Man is a killer track. To be played LOUD
