Hey guys,

Dean and i are (hopefully) going to be sitting down to interview Eric Drew Feldman and Black Francis about Non Stop Erotic, and we're wondering what you're wondering about. I can't promise that we'll ask all (or even any) of these, but i'd be remiss if i didn't ask you guys for a few ideas. Post away!

Excellent!

It'd be interesting to know whether there is a particular theme running through the record, in the vein of his recent albums.

What inspired you to revive older songs like Dead Man's Curve and Rabbits?

What inspired you to record the album - had you been sitting on a pile of songs, or did you feel the studio calling you?

Are there any plans for a non-Pacific North American tour of the album?

Any ideas who might comprise the band on the tour supporting this album? Starting with EDF himself... it seems like a long time since I last saw him on stage with BFB.

How does this album relate to the new Grand Duchy album? Is there anything connecting these two new works, aside from their origin at roughly the same time in BF's life?

No need to ask the man that. There are no plans to shelve Der Golem. Patience...

Obvious question: did Marc Almond really influence your new album?
And who was haunting the London studio?

Good question Denis. Also how much of London do we hear in the record, if any?

OK!

-You played a lot together after Dog in The sand, but EDF never produced a FB record after TOTY. It feels like for EDF, producing a record is not just puting the microfones like Nick Vincent (or Steve Albini), more like a creative colaboration... am i wrong about that?

please ask francis,

where did you write the songs?
in a cafeteria in Tuscany sipping espresso?
at home cradling the baby?
everywhere?
anywhere?
in the studio five minutes before recording?

(i'd really like to know how the genius works)

you probably thought i'm a shy guy

FB/EDF, Did you consider (or even record) any other covers for NSE before settling on "Wheels"?

Will you record "That Burnt Out Rock and Roll" as a b-side?
A Gary Greene cover might not be out of place beside a Flying Burrito Brothers cover and a song about Freddy Fendor.

How 'bout reuniting the Pixies?

&

Did you know Kurt Cobain said you were an influence?

---I think it's great you guys are doing the interview, asking non-typical well thought about questions. Good luck!

As a devout Catholic (lover) i would very much like to know does Mr.Dave Philips feature on all the songs or just a selection.

Also will there be any European dates for the NSE tour?

Why Jumping Beans and Show me your tears (the song) and Constant Sorrow Man are just rarities, not oficial tracks? You think they're not really good?
Did EDF played a role in the fact that SSMVGD never made it to the stores?

I'll just say anything that crosses my mind:

-Is Charles a fan of Snakefinger? A cover of Give back reality or Jesus Was a Leprechaun would be great!
-To Charles: do you EVER compose with something else than a guitar?
-I think the best question would be: "Just describe the new album! And take your time doing it!"

I'm looking forward to this interview.. Here are some questions i think could be interesting-

Do you still have interest in ufo's? What did you think of your magic mushroom experience? (which influenced Kingly Cave from what I understand)

Have any tips for musicians looking to enter the music world? Will there be Pixies tours for the other albums and will they still keep on playing without new music?

I will not waste the little time i have with the man on drugs, ufos and Pixies questions. This is an interview about Non Stop Erotic - and none of that is particularly relevant.

For what its worth, I would like to know:
a) if it rocks! ie does it feature any screaming, yelping, loud guitars, or is it as the cover version and the Rabbits song would suggest a bit more rootsy?
b) if there are any weird song structures, time signatures, lyric patterns etc
c) what are Frank and Eric's favourite song(s) off the album.

Thanks!
I'm surprised by the song, i was expecting something more in the vein of Bluefinger and Svn Fngrs.
I'm not sure what i think of it yet, obviously with a frank black song you need to give it some time. It's a bit weird hearing him sing he wants to be inside of you all the way and every way
