I just got an newsletter from blackfrancis.net, they're now sending them out bimonthly to those who've subscribed to the newsletter. "Thank you for signing up for the BLACK FRANCIS mailing list. This is the beginning of a twice monthly mailer we'll be sending to let you know about what's new. Included you'll find unreleased photos, quotes from BF and others that are involved with him, free tracks and more." This newsletter contains the ghosts coming, which is REALLY cool. It mixes frank black traditionalist songwriting with black francis experimental touches really well. The chorus is really catchy and the organ sounds great. Charles is doing a great job embracing the internet for promotion Highly recommend everyone signs up to the mailing list! |

Are you sure it's from The Golem. It doesn't appear in the tracklist.

Yes yes love the newsletter, great idea. The track is amazing, I really like it. Not sure if it is Golem or NSE related. Could just be a demo (Bluefinger?).
Thank you Mr Black!

Sorry, you're right its not from the golem, i hadn't seen the tracklist in a year and thought because the lyrics were talking about stuff like ghosts and spirits it was. The production sounds kind of similar to the golem stuff, i wonder where it's from. At any rate it's really cool. |

It's a charming little song. Just a drum loop and some playful chord, aside from the Man and his guitar!
I can't remember where he tells the story behind that song. About drinking in a Dublin bar (I think with Glen Hansard), which is supposedly haunted. |

I gotta go again / Would you come with me Glen
...I think that's the first of his lyrics to make me giggle like a school girl.
There's something about the feel of this song that seems to some up where the Man is now. Very comfortable with his muse, leaving us to reap the benefits. |

Nah, it's a very rough demo for sure! Nice song though. |

this is the best song he's released since switching back to black francis
he SOUNDS like frank black again while retaining the "edgier" elements of his black francis material; doesn't sound as forced
if it's at all an indication of the EDF album then wow. wow. wow... |

anybody remember the recent interview. The one where he was talking about hanging out with some people, in a bar in dublin after it had closed. He said went to the bathroom and felt like a gost was following him or something. |

Indubitably! It's a song primarily about having to be escorted to the lavatory. |

I signed up to the mailing list, but (obviously?) I'm too late for this newsletter and the song. Can anyone point me in the direction of the newsletter and/or song, please? Thanks.

French is the language of love.
Would a link to the online newsletter be ok?
I'm pretty sure it is as there is a "send this link to a friend" button in the email.
So here |

Back on topic, whatever happened with this?
I got one in Nov 09, the first one I assume, then nothing. Did they stop sending them out or was I banned? I think I read somewhere our France friends rec'd some more with NSE teasers. Where there any others?
