It's got to be, right? Right? LOVE that song.
It could be, but since it was already released on Christmass as The Water it'd be a strange move i think
Why? Deadman's curve was on Christmass too. They were accoustic-live-in-hotel-room versions. Now we will have the oficial studio rocking versions. Plus, I remember BF saying that "the water" was not a real tittle, I think he even asked once to the audience to choose a new one. |

Haha! Earlier this year a Les Paul, now an SG!
I love Telecasters, but that's quite a promising sign for anyone craving a heavy sound. |

I meant that it seems unlikely because it's already been officially named the Water on a release, not because it - like Dead Man's Curve - was on an album. But you're right about him saying that it was a fan name so it could be. If so, it's a really great song and it deserves a time to shine. |

I think it's cool when fan names trickle into reality...
When we were on the bus for Podcast 20 he mentioned, jokingly, wanting to call The Water "Come on in, the water's fine" but EDF "saved him from himself".
I don't know if we ever played it or were allowed to, but somewhere in the archives I think we have a very early demo for one of these songs and I can only say I'm very excited for this record.

One of the songs other than Dead Man's Curve and Rabbits? What was it like? |

It was Rabbits - I didn't realize that a demo for Dead Man's Curve was out there too - I haven't heard it yet but would love to.

Yeah, there's a demo under the exclusive tracks section of blackfrancis.net. It was one of the demos when blackfrancis.net was the old school computer with red and yellow around it, each layer having a demo. |

I really like that song, but I regret to find it quite similar this old heartache and Seven Fingers. But maybe it has better and deeper lyrics. Than we also have to see what they've done to that in the new record. |

I like how it does that midpoint upbeat Bullet thing. What do you call that? A modulation or something? A merry midpoint modulation.

About a month ago, there was a press release from Ocean Way Studios, with a photo, stating that Frank had been recording with former Catholic Dave Phillips, and two Los Angeles musicians: Todd O'Keefe on bass and David Henderson on drums.

Hopefully that means we'll be hearing a song soon. I wonder what the release schedule will be for Der Golem and NSE will be, and if they come out around the same time if Der Golem will get the self-promotion NSE will get. Maybe it'll be like a Black Letter Days, Devil's Workshop thing? I'm assuming though they'll be released a few months apart - just hopefully not too long apart! |

This whole waiting for Der Golem thing!
I've got stress, what if the notification emails never go out? What if there are only 300 copies?! What if I fall into a coma and it's sold-out when I come through?!!! No!!!!!
Can we just pre-order? Make the pre-order some price beyond what it will cost and refund, or give us a store credit?
That would be fantastic. |

Criminy, hammerhands, tell me about it... I have the same worry, that I won't remember to check bf.net for a few days and then will pop over there to see the limited run is sold out. But it's nice to have a little tension in our lives, isn't it?
I'd been hoping (probably along with Mark Lemhouse, the Bureau, and everyone else paying attention to this) that the "in time for the holidays" note back in September meant the thing would be here by now. But Luxembourg has a different holiday calendar than we do in the US of America.
Okay, that's probably a dozen comments on this subject from me on various threads. I will stop whining about the availability of the Golem now. My point has been made over and over, that I would really, really like to purchase this exciting new product. |

Maybe it's already known, but isnt it absolutely obvious that a classic rock album will follow (no book, no limited edition)? Or it could be the second disc of Non Stop Erotik he he |

From bf.net:
"Produced by EDF, the initial tracking sessions were held at the historic Ocean Way Studios in LA, later being finished off in NYC and London. The album also includes a Flying Burrito Brothers song ("Wheels"). Mark Lemhouse has again been commissioned to do the album artwork. Furthermore, Judy Collins, who is responsible for the films which can be seen on the Doolittle Tour has been commissioned to create an art film for the track "Rabbits," which is currently underway. No release date exists as of yet but more information forthcoming."

How can I be so curious about his next thing after so much records? He's like Dylan... never empty.... or if one day he feels empty he will certainly make a good record about it, like Nashville Syline. |

From Issue #1 Black francis nee bi-monthly newsletter (if you sign up for it you'll get new track "Ghost Coming" from the NSE sessions). It's lovely.
Non Stop Erotik Although there's no release date as of yet, the new album is tentatively titled, "NON STOP EROTIK". Sessions began at the historic Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles and were completed in NYC and London. NSE also marked another collaboration with Eric Drew Feldman. Featured on the album are 11 new tracks (one of which "Wheels" is a Flying Burrito Brothers cover). Track listing as follows:
1. WHEN I GO DOWN ON YOU 2. LAKE OF SIN 3. O MY TIDY SUM 4. RABBITS 5. WHEELS 6. DEAD MAN'S CURVE 7. CORRINA 8. SIX LEGGED MAN 9. WILD SON 10. NON STOP EROTIC 11. CINEMA STAR
BF will also be working with Judy Jacob (who did films for the Pixies' Doolittle show) to create music film(s) for tracks from NSE.
