2nd listen of the new deerhunter "monomania." very highly anticipated by Jose Jones, loving it so so much.

i actually get a strong frank black/catholics vibe to a lot of the songs (and performances). good fucking rock n roll.

and i swear "the missing" sounds like Ash. i love the fuck out of Ash, so i'm not complaining.

Young Galaxy

I think this is an exceptional music pop-art video, reminds me a lot of The Knife and Devo, and maybe a little bit black francis. I love the make-up effects and the way they dehumanise the two main characters in it. I think I might have a mannequin fetish i didn't realise, I didn't know they could move like that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSpM9zDPwj4

Full new album up here, nice electro synth pop from Canada.

http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/albums/Young-Galaxy.html

there new album is way better than the new The KNife one IMO, not that it's not worth a few listens, it's just too Laurie Anderson and not enough good old fashioned synth pop for my likeing.

Where did my Americana music thread go?

Anyway, The Deadstring Brothers. Sound like the Rolling Stones a bit, play dem honky tonk rock and blue blues. New album is the tits. Like if you like Blitzen Trapper and JJ Grey & Mofro and all that shit.

The grass is greener with bluegrass. Not quite the Stoneman Family but at least they are all still alive.

I've been listening to 'Victorious (Music from the Hit TV Show)'. I really can't say why but I've been watching a lot of Nickelodeon recently and came across this show, thought it was funny and I really just got in to the cheesey music (there's usually a song performed in each episode).

It's probably a phase that will pass, but I'm enjoying it for now.
