I've been listening to our very own Doog quite a bit lately. Where is doog anyway? I think I owe him some money for all the music of his I stole all those years ago...

My favourite song has got to be The Lazy W, although That New Song and Telephonedog are close runners up.

Norwegian band Major Parkinson are my current obsession. Their last album 'Songs from a Solitary Home' is great. There's something unique about them despite obvious influences (Frank, Tom Waits, Cardiacs). New album soon too.

here's a maths approach to the question that sometimes crossed my mind - how come we haven't run out of new music yet?

Damon Albarn. A bit of Gorillaz, a bit of The Good, The Bad & The Queen...not much Blur though. Hmmm.

Anyone ever listen to Cloud Nothings? I got into Attack On Memory last month and it's a cracker. Steve Albini produced so it's wonderfully abrasive. The singer is a great screamer too. I'd love to see them live.

A lot of Beulah. They might have been unfairly overlooked, but their albums remain with such a lot of good songs.

This lot have been pigeon holed as being Pixies-esque - dunno if I agree but there are some similarities anyway. The male singer has a generic indie voice but three or four songs are decent (one sounds like the start of All My Ghosts on a loop).

a few weeks ago an FB kick reached a majestic conclusion with Pistolero being listened to over and over for days. then it was "help" by Thee Oh Sees. over and over and over.

now it's been Starfucker's (or Strfkr's) latest album "Miracle Mile" and their last album "Reptiles." listening to Reptiles RIGHT NOW, actually. all week it's pretty much just been these two albums. and Paultronics.
