Malcom Holcombe, some alt country folk artist from somewhere in America. Rootsy stuff, sounds like he has been around a lot longer than I think he has (not sure but I think this is his first album)

Pretty recent stuff for me is Bon Iver's 'For Emma, Forever Ago'.

I've been listening to Arcade Fire's 'Funeral' a lot, too. Nice.

It so is, but I'm trapped in a loop at the moment.
It's Bon Iver, which makes me reflect and slows me down followed by a double shot of Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) to snap me out of it.

atlas sound's PARALLAX has finally hooked me. can't stop spinning that one.
new grizzly bear is tip top. can't get enough of that, either. SHIELDS.

SUNG TONGS by animal collective is real nice. the vashti bunyun EP is real good, too. that second song is gorgeous.

Just watching The Straits on Rewind festival footage on TV, playing Money For Nothing. It's half the original band reformed with a new line up. Knopfler is there, with long hair. It was totally rocking, like the original version but better somehow, less production and more raw and in the flesh. Tight as fuck.

Rewind 2013 = my top next year festival wish probably now, all old 80s and 90s bands reformed coming together in one festival. Fandaby dozy!

Been listening to a wonderful cover of Paul Simon's "The Boxer" by Jerry Douglas with Mumford and Sons. That song always cuts me deep.

WRONG. It first appeared in '97 on a 7" ep exclusive to the Breeders Digest subscribers. Get your facts straight, tro!

Jose: someone once posted a link to some blog that had every Breeders b-side and demo in a single zip file. Can't remember the URL but it's worth looking for it.

Dead Fingers. New album. Really cool bluegrass alt rock from somewhere in America I'm guessing. They remind me a bit of The Kills, in their early days when they were a bit more alt rock than garage punk.

Beatsteaks....imho by far the best german live band.
Everytime I attend at their shows my ankles hurt for 2 weeks from all the jumping :-)

This years amazing show at Area4 Festival:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIzbLxZOFnU
(set the quality to 480p...when I click the link it's automatic reduced to 240p...?)

My favourite song is I Don't Care As Long As You Sing...6 minutes bouncing ;-)

The singer is also a Pixies fan, here is an In Heaven-Cover:
http://www.myvideo.de/watch/2188666/Beatsteaks_In_Heaven_Rock_am_Ring_2007

They also covered Head On on a Single B-Side

Julieta Venegas. Somehow came across her on Spotify a few weeks ago and been listening to the songs Me Voy and Limon Y Sal quite a bit. I like to sing along with the verses in my nonsensical version of Spanish. I have the choruses nailed though.

Cool. My wife likes her. You should try Ximena Sariņana too, I think she's great. I just realized she sings on the latin Twilight OST, which is kind of awesome.

Thanks Denis I'll have a listen when I'm at my computer. Does your wife understand Spanish lyrics or just enjoy the music anyway? I do look up most foreign language lyrics just out of interest but I guess it doesn't matter to me too much, I just like the way the words sound.
