I've been to quite a few shows in Toronto over the last few months:

- Trans Am
- Grizzly Bear
- Deerhunter
- Zoobombs
- Pere Ubu
- Battles
- Ponys
- LCD Soundsystem
- Junior Boys
- Arcade Fire
- Wooden Stars
- Holy Fuck
- Hella
- The Constantines
- etc..

Love going to shows. Have to say Deerhunter and Pere Ubu have been the best of the year. I'll post a review here is a go to see another stand out act.

Kevin Drew and Modest Mouse sometime within the next two months.

also Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello played a concert together here last week (i think) but it was like $100 so i figured it wasn't worth it.

How is it D?

Is it generally a bad idea to make out with people you don't know so well at shows? or is getting a disease not so likely from that? (i know this sounds stupid)

i think the chances of getting a disease from making out with someone you don't know is about the same as making out with someone you do know.

you're right, it does sound stupid. or maybe the girls there really were sick?

Yesterday I went to see a concert with Starsailor, Travis and The Killers. By far the best performance was Travis, The Killers dissapointed me, the sound was awful, very bad equalitation (travis sounds excellent), I think they´re overrated, they first album was good, but the second one is regular for me.

My Bloody Valentine last night. Effed up and didn't have my left ear plug in all the way. Could not hear out of said ear all day: slightly coming back tonight.

Have never felt anything like the 10-15 minutes of raw noise they played at the end of the show. Thought my knees were going to buckle from the sound.

Cool looking show, but the performance was so shoe-gazerish that it turned me off. Also, could not even tell for the most part if they were singing because the vocals were so low in the mix.

I think I'm just bitter about my ear though.

I saw metric perform an acoustic set the other night. It was pretty good. Emily Haines (not difficult to look at and she has an amazing voice) and the guitarist. I haven’t seen them play with a full band before. Their new album, “fantasies” is pretty good.

here's a catchy song from a previous album….

I really like their live shows. All the songs are pretty long when they play live, like they build a lot of songs up and they put a lot of passion into their sets!! The last show I saw them at they turned the bass up to 11, it was crazy......They also have a cool light show!

They're def in my top 5 live bands! I think on the upcoming tour they will be playing songs off Feels- I am looking forward to that!!

I saw (HEARD) mogwai tonight (monday).

Very professional. They have this whole loud quiet than real quiet than super quiet then forget your dangerously close to the speaker quiet until BANG HOLY BATSHIT CRAZY LOUD back to quiet....... thing goin on.

Normally I like small venues but these guys are all fckng sound. They could fill out a theater no problem.
