We've got a What Frank Song Are You Listening To? thread. It's just plain dumb that we don't have a What Song Are You Listening To? thread in the General Section.

I was just thinking this morning that we should have a thread like this, tro!
Right now I am enjoying "Baby Six String" by Dressy Bessy!

I'm working at home at 9.30pm but reasonably low level stuff so music playing away in the background.
Just listened to 'Dearest Descrambler' from Grandaddy's Sumday demos. Fantastic!

I'm listening to my favorite radio station in the world, KSYM in San Antonio, Texas. The song at the moment is "Paper in My Shoe" by Boozoo Chavis. (I haven't heard of him [or them?] either.) It's zydeco. I love zydeco.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

That's great, if this one doesn't take off I can just read the old one from time to time.

well, the point was that these big threads are detrimental to forum discussion and so were locked. It just becomes people posting endless song titles/artists with little dicussion. Maybe the mods are more relaxed about it now, I dunno.

So long as they're all "value-added" posts, like when you include YouTube links or whatever, I can't see any reason to shut down a thread. Lists are indeed lame, but so far this thread isn't a list.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

This morning I forgot to let out the wasp from under the cup. I killed it. As penance I'm doing a winged insect dance to Zobi La Mouche by Les Negresses Vertes.

Is this for Satellite Party? If so I might have to agree. Some decent tracks and some seriously lame tracks. |

'Evil' - Red House Painters.
RHP FTW, I fell in love with the s/t "Rollercoaster" album, I'm trying to equally appreciate the proceeding album right this minute, but my right ear is kinda hurting and muffled. Which is NOT good.

I'm going crazy for Bob Dylan's "Love Minus Zero/No Limit". I've always liked it, but I rediscovered it the other day when I heard Doug Sahm's cover. (Doug Sahm is the guy who originally did "Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day.") Here are the first couple verses:
My love she speaks like silence, Without ideals or violence, She doesn't have to say she's faithful, Yet she's true, like ice, like fire. People carry roses, Make promises by the hours, My love she laughs like the flowers, Valentines can't buy her.
In the dime stores and bus stations, People talk of situations, Read books, repeat quotations, Draw conclusions on the wall. Some speak of the future, My love she speaks softly, She knows there's no success like failure And that failure's no success at all.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Did you know that CCR are from Stockton, California and no one in the band was born in the Bayou? If you haven't heard of Stockton, it's because there's no reason you should have.
It seems like CCR is associated with Southern rock - I just think it's weird that they're really from California. Also, I think it's weird that Lynyrd Skynyrd sings "Sweet Home Alabama" but the band is from Florida.

Yep, your right and I dont think Fogarty even visited de deep south until a good twenty years after CCR were at their peak. BTW, I do like CCR as well and I have been to Stockton (by accident). Isn't that where Chris Isaak (sp) is from?
As for Hall and Oates - Jefrey I will leave that to you. |
