The Black Francis album Bluefinger is definately coming out this year. I don't remember hearing anything about the release date for Grand Duchy, but I am assuming it would be this year, too.
Anyone know for sure? |

I know I'm not a regular here (though I visit everyday, I'm just shy 'bout posting) but I sure do like me some Frank. Can some kind soul out there help a brother out? I'm dying here! Please?
No matter what happens this is crazy exciting news!
Thanks for your time,

La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la La la la la
Once we were kissin’ Hair(?) in the crowd (Here?) They cheered so loud They’d come to listen They thought we’d gone missin’
I can’t decide Do I confide These things In my heart, in my heart, in my heart
Vous vous rappelez Dans la vie de ??? Que nous avons Embrasse tout la nuit Il etait si grand Extasy pure Je ne l'oublierai Un moment si parfait Vous etes celui Le seul pour moi *

That might be right, kfs. I also thought it might be "Head in the crowd" or "Hearin' the crowd." Not sure why I settled on hair. Hard to figure out what's going on in that part of the song. The lines "They cheered so loud / They’d come to listen / They thought we’d gone missin’" make me think of the Pixies, like he's talking about the reunion tour or something. But I just watched "loudQUIETloud," which might have planted that idea in my mind, and I don't think it's right.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

I just went back and listened again. I'm usually pretty good at this sort of thing. Now I would swear I hear HAM IN THE CROWD.
That can't be right!! |

Seems like "head in the cloud/s" might be a possibiltiy, or perhaps this has been mentioned before. |

Based just on the subsequent line, I think "hearing the crowd" makes sense.

Not sure about the ham/head/here lyric, but I have to say.. this is one of the BEST Frank songs ever (or frank collaborations - not sure who wrote it - frank & violet?). The melody, the sound, the whole thing. "Holy wow" is right, even if it's someone's signature. Insanely good song. |

alright so I'm a dummy but I'm kinda confused... Grand Duchy is a song or an album? If it's an album than blue finger is another one? so it makes 2 of them?
anyhow, could someone be kind enough to email what everything is talking about?
my email address is babydidtherightthing@hotmail.com
thanks?

Thanks santa! I'm really happily surprised about this track. I dig
so, if the be or not be of a new pixies album is in the hands of kim deal, at least now we know there's someone who could fill her spot in terms of backing vocals right (<-did that sentence make sense?)
(nooo, sorry kim, it wouldn't be the same without you!) |

For what we know Grand Duchy is a band with Frank & Violet and Bluefinger is a new FB/BF album. So you're right it makes two of them. |

There's also the project with EDF, whatever that is. And is he still talking about Schwarma? The Man has a million things going on. That's good for us fans.

I think Schwarma was only ever mentioned in one interview, and it was off the cuff, at least.
Judging by the 'Bluefinger' description, if FB has decided to do a power trio thing, then that'd be it. |

For the moment the EDF project has some songs in the pure style of Frank Black (I mean the Frank Black that wrote show me your tears): The Water, Dead Man's Curve, Rabbit's Hole To me this is going to be the next "FRANK BLACK" album, and I'd bet that pseudo is not dead at all. I think Black Francis is english and Frank Black american.

What´s up with the elitist attitude boys and girls? People are asking how to listen to the mp3 but you totally ignore them. |

Put it this way, if I happened to have the mp3, I wouldn't put the link up in a public forum before it's been given the green light. One possible course of action, which of course, I couldn't possibly comment on, would be members who have requested it being sent it via private email.
But, naturally, that's purely a hypothesis. |

Jesus. Not to out myself here, in case the higher-ups aren't happy that this song has gotten around, but I've gone completely out of my way to share this with dozens of people who have asked. And I'd be glad to share it with you. Just drop me a line.

THIS IS MY FIRST POST TO THIS FORUM, BUT I'VE BEEN A LURKER FOR A WHILE NOW, AND A FRANK BLACK FAN FOR A LONGER WHILE. ANYWAY, I'VE BEEN DYING TO HEAR FORT WAYNE, SO I FIGURED THIS WOULD BE THE BEST PLACE TO QUENCH MY THIRST FOR IT. IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE IT GREATLY. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Ok guys. This thread is getting a little bit ridiculous now. I don't care who badgers who for what via email but a little bit of discretion from now on would not be a bad thing me thinks. I think a whole thread of people asking about a song that hasn't had any sort of go ahead for sharing is a touch inappropriate so I'm locking down for now. Before I get a bunch of emails telling me there's a chance this leak is fully intentional, my feeling is as long as there is any sort of a chance that it isn't, this isn't a good idea. If you're desperate to discuss, start a new thread but if it turns into this one #2 then the same happens unless I hear an OK from somewhere.
Idiot. |
