I received a leaked version of Honeycomb and still bought 5 copies.
I procured the leaked version of Honeycomb mainly because there was such a buzz about it on this forum. It sucks to feel left out of the discussion when the release date is so far away.
I also bought the retail version the day it came out.
With Honeycomb, I don't know if FB was happy with the leak, but Jon Tiven was on here openly discussing the track with us, so at some point it seems like it became "OK" to have the leaked version.
So to me, if FB gives his blessing (as he has with taping shows) to us superfans checking out the unfinished work, it should be OK as long as it's not a privileged few thing. If you're on the forum, there should be some way to get it without breaking a leg.
I for one really enjoyed being "in" on the creative process on Honeycomb and being able to compare the two versions and discuss them here!

Jefrey, I agree.
To everyone else, I know 5 is crazy, but I am a crazy fan in that way. Also, I wanted to keep my word to the person who gave me the pre released copy. |

I don't think you missed it...it sounds like someone emailed it to someone, and now 5 or 6 people have it and they're sort of flaunting it in everyone's face, which is kind of uncool.
With Honeycomb, it wasn't hard to find it on most file sharing networks, but I don't think this had been leaked in that way, so maybe those that have it should email keep it to themselves for now rather than make the rest of us feel like tools for not having it.

Go to the Grand Duchy thread and e-mail anybody whom you think must have heard the song. I bet they'd be more than willing to share. It's been around for a couple weeks now, and those who have it have tried very hard to keep their mouths shut, but it's an infectious, exciting song, and the lid finally burst. Nobody's trying to flaunt it. I'm sure they'd be willing to share.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

This Bluefinger thing sounds interesting. At first, I thought it might have been a hoax (the titled didn't seem like "real" FB titles---more like off-the-cuff faux titles), then I believed, then I doubted again, and now I can't imagine why long-time veterans of the board would pull everyone's leg like this. The fact that he switched his name around again, supposedly, picques my interest. |

Oh, I know, Daisy. Thanks for the info. I saw the original post a few weeks back. In the cryptic spirit of the thread in which that appeared, I thought Fb himself was pulling out leg. That's what I meant. :)

It's a pasty, which historically originated in Cornwall, in the UK. |

I like the other kind of pasties. I'd post a picture, but I don't want photos to be banned again. |

Isn't pasty also some kind of drug reference?
Ok, I looked it up on the Urban Dictionary. Seems it means dry mouth from smoking pot, at least to some people. So Captain Pasty must be flying without the aid of his trusty airplane in this song.

I apologize to Quaker Oats & Saul Bass for any similarities in the 'Captain Pasty', Bluefinger, Inc. Logo. Saul Bass you were a true inspiration for my design!!

Really ? Are they filled up with fried meat and onions? In Argentina they're called empanadas. We also have varieties with cheese or corn.
Patsies are not like english pies, arent they? Those that look like vomit when you open it, and the pees go out in a flow of grey juice, and tastes like mud... It almost made me cry the first time I went to england. |

Comon Frank Black fans, nobody knows who are those Jason and Dan who play with him on the new album ? I guess Dan is NOT Dan Penn from Honeycomb. Couldnt they be some members of a band he toured with ? Maybe the rythm section of a famous young band ? Maybe unknown friends ? |

I heard that "Discotheque 36" is a 136 bpm rave number with synthetized voice and killer bass overdub. Is that true? If it is, this means goodbye to Nashville-era, I guess... |
