That's the same "Blue Finger" I mentioned earlier in this thread. I'd like to learn how to play that. Can someone come up with tabs for it?

Miss Thing : Hey folks. Contrary to what has been written recently, it isn't Sierra Swan singing the backing vocals on "It's Just Not Your Moment". Its 'lil me. Not that it's a vocal triumph. However, my life revolving around spitup and diaper duty as it is currently, I can't have Sierra Swan stealing my one little morsel of glory! -V

Daisy Girl : Violet, hope to hear you on other FB albs.
Is FMRM the first time you recorded something? You sound like a pro.

Miss Thing : Hi Daisy! Thanks for your kind words. My first gig with Charles was singing the female vocal on Repo Man. But I actually have an ongoing project of my own, called Dunmore, that I'm working on getting out into the word. It sounds nothing like my husband - its new wave -- synths and stuff. That's where my head is at. In fact, I think I've almost convinced our guy to do a new wave e.p. wih me!

Above is dialogue taken from a thread titled "Its just not your moment" (http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16369&whichpage=1 ): I just wanted to, for one, help turn Violet's "one little morsel of glory" into more of a chunk. But really this is interesting to me,..Is Dunmore finished ?? and did Miss Thing not only convince "our guy to do a new wave e.p." with her but a full length New Wave Album named , "BlueFinger" .....?

frank mentions dunmore in his second post in this thread
so I guess Dunmore is the band he worked with as backing band
or some of it's players

I think it would be cool if FB did a guest appearance on Dunmore's album vs. Violet/Dunmore doing appearing on a FB album.

It sounds like there is a decent chance that Blue Finger might be a Dunmore album.

OK, back to Blue Finger...Did anyone else notice what Frank Black said on the opening song of the Christmass DVD? He said "I need a band!"

Also, in Loud Quiet Loud, Frank talks about starting all over again, if the pixies got back together they would need to start over again...new name and everything

Here is a long shot...A new band called Blue Finger, comprised of a group of guys he met while making Fast Man Raider Man - Nashville rockers. Ghost Finger?

What is the Luxemborg connection?

The album seems to be credited to Black Francis, I'd be surprised if a Dunmore album came out under that name. Most new wave bands I know of don't feature harmonica. The one Dunmore song I've heard (on the podcast) certainly does not feature the instrumental configuration described in the bfBF announcement...

We'll know more soon enough.

I can't wait to hear Miss Thing's vocal performance on FB's new record. I'm guessing she will be shrieking, "He's MY boyfriend!" all throughout the songs.

Man, her first post here is unerasable in my mind. Was the "He's MY boyfriend" post her first?

Whatever...

Heheh. It wasn't "He's my boyfriend", it was "I'm Frank's girlfriend". Hey, if you were Kim Deal's boyfriend, wouldn't you tell everybody? I would (except to my wife, of course).

That post must have been lyrics. You know, these posts, with the cryptic lyrics and weird pictures made with the Apple Photobooth program (I think), are an interesting form of performance art. It's a shame the audience is so small. Then again, it's a shame how small the audience is for everything Frank does.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

So, if memory serves me, and it doesn't always, we've seen the lyrics for Captain Pasty, Threshold Apprehension, Tight Black Rubber and maybe, Bluefinger. I for one, can't wait to come back to this thread and see how close, or far, the babelfished lyrics are to the real thing. What a great game Charles!

And, Thanks!

hmmm. i'm still confused! but i do like the game. here's some thoughts.

-can someone provide some more explanation to this babelfish theory? would it possibly be english to dutch then back to english? and i wonder if there is a way to get the correct translation?
-blackfrancis detective agency! cool. so he wants us to solve the mystery! no sh*t sherlock! blackfrancis.net---maybe some clues there.
-dean and brian have mysteriously disappeared!! hmmmm.
-did he start referring back to blackfrancis on the christmass album? charles is pretty astute on the business side of music. with these filesharing sites artists need to offer something more than just music when they release an album or else people may just download the music for free. so maybe charles has attached something more than just music on that release. obviously there is the dvd but maybe some clues in the cover art or dvd footage itself.
-charles has said he would like to release more music but the record companies often resist too much material. record company, schmecord company! sounds like violet is involved. new balckfrancis record company? more frank/blackfrancis music!! bluefinger! cool. new pixies album??
-where's chickenwithtwoheads!! i want some more inside info dammit!
-is blackfrancis growing a stache! anyone want to have a stache growing contest?
-will he be touring with grande dutchy in europe? will i be able to convince the mrs and little fu to go on a european holiday? maybe there will be a prize to whoever can solve the mystery!

You can find Babel Fish here: http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/ Even though you'll get an odd result, it sure goes a long way in helping understand Chinese...

As an interesting side note, Babel Fish borrows its name from a tiny fish that Arthur Dent pops in his ear after being told to do so by Ford Prefect. This allows Arthur Dent to understand what the Aliens are saying. How? Well, the Babel Fish feeds on brainwave energy only to excrete a translated version. Oh, and please, do yourself a favour and don't pass by the book in favour of the movie, you'd really be missing out!

i've always wanted to read the book but unfortunately haven't got to it yet. thanks for the reminder! so where you been? i've went back and started rereading this thread. i'm really enjoying your insights. and those youtube links! fantastic! any new thoughts?
