Love, love, love Vamos. I'm the son of an economic migrant and I can tell you the song's right there on the money. Also, bizarrely, it reminds me of Broadway musicals. Of "Summertime" in Porgy and Bess, obviously. But the sentiment is more "America" in West Side Story.

Seeing it live is something else. I sort of wish the Pixies had kept up revising it for each subsequent album. I want to know what the Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe versions of Vamos would've sounded like.

Surreal to see a kid (Charles' kid Julian in LQL) dancing to it when its themes are so adult.

Yep, I love it too. It's one of my favourites. So much energy. I love the Spanish at the beginning. I can't describe why I love it, it's just different. It's almost bizzare compared to stuff I listened before the Pixies. Now it seems normal.

Exquisite cartoon violence in Joey's playing from the '91 Brixton show with Joey's brother filling out the sound.

A little love for the brothers Santiago.

More cartoon violence! Turn it up!

The Brixton performance is the best ever caught on film, but he acts like a total loon in this one. I wish he still interacted with the amp and mics the way he used to on this song.

It also reminded me the riff in the Breeders song, Saints.

Didn't know that -- he played that riff quite a lot in the old days and I always assumed it was his own little thing.

And I never knew Jimi Hendrix wrote the Simpsons theme

Thanks for loading up the Club Rodon version DruggedBunny. He must have really loved the sound in that place. I'm still waiting for someone to load the Brixton Academy version where he smashes up his Les Paul (not the gold top).

I assumed it was Joey's own little riff too. Nice find dan.
