I thought they were great when Surfer Rosa put them on her mix before they got famous. The album is probably good (haven't heard it) but you'll have forgotten their existence in 6 months, and I generally try to buy albums that last a bit longer. Haven't they split already?

I have 11,15,21,30, 35 and I just bought 45 for someone else. I'm so going to put those numbers on the lottery.

I like two of them, TV On The Radio and Mogwai. That's it. I'm a little disappointed with myself, I approve of the NME 4%, that means. I thought it would be less.

Yeah, seriously! I've always been a big fan of the band. Although it's their less interesting album, it's still a good one (Knights Of Cydonia for example, is awesome). And compared to the rest of the list...

We'll indeed have forgotten about the Arctic Monkeys in six months. (I already had.) And you see that guy way down there at No. 45? That's a damn good album. People will still be listening to it 50 years from now.

The Arctic Monkeys album is pretty good. I sometimes think that people don't want to like them just because it's 'uncool' to like anything in the NME.

Anyway, I've got 5 of those albums.

overrated? they couldn't even make it in music because they were barely making enough money to survive.

i understand they're not for everyone, but Fambly cat not even making a top 50 list is ridiculous.

but then, most lists are ridiculous.

Sorry Tony, but i think the general response to that album was pretty terrible. I didn't see more than one or two non-mediocre/bad reviews of it, so i think it'll be off most people's lists.

reviews aside, it's the album of the year in my book. that list is fucking ca ca. i'm so tired of these flavor-of-the-month recycled "indie" bands

OK, fair point. But that was before the album was released, amirite? That song was/is good, but the rest of the album just isn't. I listened to it trying to like it, like, a lot. I couldn't like it...

Brian, you could be right. But this one's an exception, it's not just your average compilation.

The twee thing, maybe I'm busted. I kind of surprised myself too...
