I took out my old playstation and hooked it up a month ago and it still works perfectly (i even tried out those pre-dual shock controllers that came with it and the work too)
"Wii better than PS3"? In what way do you mean? In terms of power and graphics the wii is actually less powerful than the original xbox. The PS3 is around 40 times more powerful than the PS2
The main thing to take into account is the kinds of games you want to play. Nintendo have slightly isolated themselves with the wii in terms of third-party support, but you can expect nintendo themselves to make the most out of their own machine. The PS3 and 360 don’t have that problem, they’ve got the third party support as well as their big-name-franchises.
Honestly? There’s nothing wrong with PS2 right now. Great games like God of War 2 and Okami are still on the horizon. As it stands, PS2 still outsells every other single format on a weekly basis worldwide and game development for the system hasn’t ended yet either. For god sake, the original playstation only ended production in march of 2006!

I would like to get a PS3, but I'm not paying over £400 for a console. The only reason I normally get the Playstations is for the GTA games, but they'll be out on the 360 too, so I might just get one of those when GTA comes out. Looking forward to the Wii just as it's so much fun to play with others, maybe the novelty will run out, but for the time being and the price tag, it seems well worth it and is more appealing to me than the other consoles at the moment.

If I were to get a PS3 I'd probably wait about a year when the prices have gone down. I think I waited about a year to get the PS2. But I think that is the console I'll eventually get.

Got me a 360 yesterday. It was a "give us your old console and (actually quite) a few old games and get it for half the prize" kind of deal. A consolero friend of mine was kind enough to help me out with some of his old games. Since I would have bought a 360 anyway when Halo3 comes out, I figured I might as well take that offer.
Really looking foreward to the weekend now. Especially to try out that live feature/platform they offer. And Gears Of War of course.
The Wii... I don't know. It sure looks nice, like party fun and all. And I am even sympathetic with Nintendo's approach of going new ways. Like giving up on the competition with Sony and Microsoft about speed, graphics, etc.. and instead concentrate their innovations on fields like gamplay and handling.
But: the games I saw so far just don't do it for me. This childfreindly Nintendo look turns me off somehow. And the games don't seem to be too complex either. I could be wrong though, since I never actually played one. |

GTA will be released on the same day for both 360 and PS3 (october 19th as far as i know) The only difference this time round will be the exclusive downloadable content. 360 is getting extra missions, while PS3 is getting extra areas added on to the game map. It all depends on if you want more missions or more game world

Now that some time has passed, what are your views on the wii?
Mine is gathering dust in the corner, the complete lack of quality games (or anything merely interesting) has rendered the console useless. FPS games just don’t work on wii, and that’s a huge disappointment. When I read reviews off wii games the majority off criticisms are put down to the controls, which is meant to be the best part of the machine!
I don’t think I would have bought the wii if I had had some hands on experience with a few different games.
It’s a shame really

Still getting plenty out of mine, Sports is still a fave, got loads to do on that still. My GF is into Sonic, so she plays that alot (the soundtrack is really annoying), and Zelda is taking up my time when I can gather together the energy for another mission. All-in-all it was well worth the purchase and I can't wait for Smash Bros to come out! As well as Mario...

Finally managed to find one for my 10 year old son and I couldn't resist try a flight sim on it (Blazing Angels). Awful. The wiimote/nunchuck combination sounds attractive but it doesn't work out that well for that.
He loves it, though, and that's the important part.

I am not sure about mine. I love FPS's, but Call of Duty 3 is a little bewildering to me still. It's just not the same as using a mouse. I don't like FPS's using regular console controls at all, and this is a little better, but still not quite right.
The sports are still great fun, but as I said when I first played on my mate's, it's so much better with a few people.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

Mouse and keyboard are always the way to go for FPS’s, but analog sticks are far better than the wiimote and nunchuk. Red Steel was just plain horrific.
Traded in my Wii today. Got €334 (in gamestop credit) between the console, games and extras I’ll probably put it towards a 360 bundle deal or some ps3 games I was kind of sad to get rid of it. But party game after party game wasn’t hitting the spot for me. I held onto the box though. For sentimental reasons.

I don't have a Wii, and I'm not planning on getting one anytime soon, but I do have a certain amount of loyalty to Nintendo, so I'd probably get one before I'd get a PS3. And I'm not sure I get the appeal of the Xbox at all. Do they have ANY games that aren't sports, war simulations, or based on movies I didn't see? Maybe I've just convinced myself of that because I don't like the idea of Microsoft having become so entrenched in the video game market, though.
