Oh my God, LBF...this is the funniest response I've read all week (and at work, to boot!). And yet, I don't quite get it...that's what's so funny to me. And I like how you pronounce my name with an Italian accent!

why do you do your job, money, fun, creativity, because you have to (or any other reason)? can you have it all? fun, creativity, a good working enviornment and a good paycheck?
What's your answer to this question?
...
lbf lol. what's your answer
i honestly think you have a trade off the more fun and creative it is, the less you get paid and the more you make the more boring and pressured it is.
i wish i could find a fun creative job that paid a decent living, but i don't know of any places like that to work for.
benji i know about that student loan thing. it hurts. |

At the moment I work in a little Cafe, it keeps me in free tea and coffee, but its not what i want to be doing long term-its really just there to fund my masters, which HOPEFULLY will allow me to travel and shout at government/corporate types...I really do think its the people who make the job what it is...but then i found making what was effectively small change for a massive corporation and getting a packet of jellybeans for being employee of the month within the region pretty soul destroying. |

Within the space of the day or so since I posted here, I've decided my job is stupid, for the reason that I can spend an entire year trying to do things as accurately and as efficiently as possible, and I still end up screwed up by the end of the year because of the other people I have to deal with (i.e. outside of my immediate workspace). I mean this in a strap-dynamite-to-myself-and-run-into-the-architecture-department kind of way.

I love my job. Its exactly the kind of thing I want to do - and I know that ive now begun a real career in this area.
I work with great people, the pay is fantastic, and I am continually moving up.
Not to mention all of the perks of the job! (free phones/beer/consumerables; tickets to film premier & record launch after shows, posh dinners, awards ceremonies etc).
At the moment my holiday is 24 days, (plus one day in my birthday week!) and plus bank holidays. This goes up each year by 1 day though.

So if you work there for another 332 years, you will never have to actually go to work, but will still get paid. Cool.

I love the actual job part of my job, just not all of the constant studying that comes along with it. I'm a pilot. I was recently flying out of Victoria landing and taking off from the ocean. That was awesome. I had to constantly watch out for these big fat seals who are all overweight because they don't have many predators in that area and there is an abundance of salmon. They just laze around the airport all day.

ha de ha ha ha Simon!
Daisy - I was kind head hunted - so i cant help you there!!
Just keep your eyes and ears open to what industries (that you are interested in) are going up/down etc, developments in that market - the you will have your head screwed on in an interview, and they will be impressed that they dont have to teach you the industry
