Dreams don't get nearly as much credit as they deserve. Why don't people talk about dreams 33% as much as they talk about real life? It's their other plain of existence for God's sake! It blows my mind. |

Why doesn't the really drunk guy talk about how he got home? Because he very rarely remembers.

Same with me, Carl. I often have dreams in which I seem to be everywhere at once. The weird thing is, I'm never confused until I wake up and look back at my dream. Why, just the other day, I dreamt that I was in my uncle's condominium, a library, and a swimming pool. My friend was supposed to come and hang out with me in the library, but I had slept through the alloted hang out time. I don't quite remember what happened after that. I don't know if I ever saw my friend or not. Then, all my cousins were there, and I stayed in the swimming pool (which, come to think of it, didn't have any water in it) and read aloud Albert Camus' The Stranger. My cousins were either inside watching TV on a comfortable couch in an imaginary room that looked nothing like my uncle's condo, or they were sleeping. I accidentally read too loud, and my parents came running after me to scold me for waking everyone up. Of course, the things I actually said weren't actually from the real novel; I had just said jibberish. The last thing I remember was the cold, suspenseful feeling that came over me as I saw my parents running violently from a distance. They were running to the pool, and I was scared of the impending punishment/scolding.
I can visualize my dream very easily, but I definitely can't verbalize what happened. |

I often dream I'm supposed to be somewhere familiar, but it looks and feels totally different.

Wow, me too. I rarely get a good night's sleep dodging bullets through the jungles of Vietnam, getting chased by evil spiits, desperately trying to explain my innocence to a hangman jury in Texas, realizing my wife is a dude, finding out I'm actually a hit man robot working for the govt, etc...
I wake up at least 10 times a night to sheer terror. I'm sleepy... |

I had a dream where something really weird happened (i forget what it was) and then I woke up and went to tell someone, but then I remembered it was a dream. For a while I thought it was real. I don't think it was that weird, though. I think it's happened a few other times before, too.

I had a dream that my dad was cutting a carrot in the sink (for some reason) and chopped three fingers off. I had to fish them out of the garberator (sp?) which thankfully hadn't been on and put them in a tupperware container with ice to get to the hospital. I was talking to my sister last night and apparently she'd had a dream recently that there was a wolf in our yard when my youngest sister (age 9) and some of her cousins were outside playing and the wolf bit off some of their fingers and feet.
Why we're both dreaming about losing appendages I have no idea, but kind of weird. Not to mention the dreams themselves, which... <shudder>

I got a dime out of a garbage disposal once, and I still have it somewhere. It's all mangled and stuff.

My dreams are either everyday scenarios where something unexpected goes wrong seemingly designed to warn me about stuff I haven't thought about, or , a lot more often, I'm a superhero/regular guy up against the odds in space or other dimension etc. Dreaming is fun.
(On a Frank-related note: When I was younger and concerned about being a bit overweight I dreamt I was flying a lot. It was lovely. I had a sort of flashback to that feeling when I first bought Black Letter Days and soon after dreamt the Valentine & Garuda story.)
(On a slightly less Frank-related note: Once when I took a shower in a dark room on acid and heard a fly buzzing around I somehow got into the heart of that fly and the male and female Mikaels fucked before my eyes in there. That always pops up in my head when I hear Hermaphroditos. Drugs are fun too. I guess it's a draw.) |

You have to remember, dreams rarely have any adverse effects beyond a bad nightmare, but even then you wake up feeling relieved, which is arguable better than waking up after a great dream and thinking, "Shit, I didn't get off with her after all."
Dreams are potentially a more surreal experience, and you never wake up after a nice long dream with a headache. Plus, dreams cost only your imagination, and not your wallet. |

To me, the only thing more boring that someone describing their dream is someone describing what they did when they got high. |

Last night I drempt I was going into this room with a load of other people who were supposed to be in bands, to see Frank. And I was sitting next to FRank, and we were both eating some kind of rye sandwiches, and I said the cheese tasted rubbery, or something like that, and Frank said it was off, or something! Very strange indeed.

As a regular pot smoker...I rarely remember a nights dream. If i take 3 or 4 days break from smoking, I begin to remember more dreams, in more detail.
Funny... |

Were you under any sort of influence when you wrote this post? What happened to the proper spelling and grammar in which you customarily thrive, Jason?
I don't want to be condescending. I just want to be "the guy who points out improper grammar as often as possible." To be bestowed with such a title would boost my ego. |
