It's funny how bent out of shape people on that discussion board get about a 2 week break. Are they going to join suicide pacts when the series is done (and not all of their questions have been answered)? |

I just don't want to find out there'll be a spin-off!! Sweet, corporate-jesus, don't bring out a spin-off.
Any predictions people? I'm betting on "The Tree Of Life" or something, for Richard Alperts immortality. That or he has a good dermatologist.

I personally would rather them hold off the premiere until March and run uninterrupted, but ultimately, it doesn't matter all that much.
The wife and i have been rewatching Season 5, and i'm sad to say that it wasn't as great as i remembered it. Each episode is very good, but few are great. I think Season 5 led to a lot of things we've wanted to see, and so was very satisfying on that level, but as for rewatch value, i'd rank this either last, or second to last after Season 3.

Rousseau's backstory was rumoured for a very long time, and when it finally happened in season 5 i couldn't help but feel that it just didn't satisfy the whole mystery around her survival
And i'm hoping season 6 has no loose, fluffyshit episodes (like the Dave episode in season 3 that i really hate) Each season has one of those filler episodes that really let it down. Exposé was another one!
So lost is starting back February 2nd and airing on tuesdays in the States

was a bit fillery, but then I have always felt that about it since the start. I don't know if someone dreamt the whole thing up from the inception or if they wrote it as they went along, and I don't wish to know until the end so no spoilers.
One scene from S5 that sticks in my mind is the bit at the end when I can't remember who is hiking through the jungle to try and stop jack detonating the H bomb, and they by chance come across Rose and Derek who getting lost in the sort of rescue mission at the end S4 ended up setting themelves up a nice little paradise home and had no idea whatsoever that they were in the 70's nor cared. When they learn about the current situation which is pretty serious, they are not phased by it in the slightest and the line where Rose mock's 'Jack's got bomb...' ... it's always something really stuck in my mind, I thought it was a very clever bit of tongue in cheek humour.
I'm looking very much forward to S6 and think the Lost team have done an outstanding job creating this TV series and deserve a medal for it. |

From what i remember they laid out a certain story fairly early on in season one. The "Adam and Eve" bodies found in the 6th episode are supposedly a huge part of the show that'll prove they weren't making it all up (when it's finally explained) http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Adam_And_Eve
FINALLY!, Some airdates for UK and ireland have shown up. Sky1 will be showing season 6 starting on Feb 5th, and the 4th for RTE2
Also this made me chuckle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1PAB6Sgdp8

Last night's episode "What Kate Did" was really disappointing! First of all Kate isn't a very interesting, we get it, you're always on the run and afraid of commitment. Secondly, the writing/dialogue was terrible. I'm getting a sense that the whole temple thing might be like the season 3 cages. However, i think next week is a Locke/Ben/Richard episode, so its pretty much guarenteed to be amazing |

I thought it was ok in the sense that it seemed more like a transitional episode to me, announcing more important things to come(/!\ WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS /!\ like the return of C or the "2nd" / other birth of A, not to mention Locke and his group coming to the temple of course /!\ END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS /!\).
While watching again episodes of the 5th season last year, I was a bit surprised and disappointed to discover that many revelations and twists seemed a little bit more artificially put in the story, probably due to some relative clumsiness in dealing with a different rythm on the occasion of this particular season, closer to the end. Now it seems more natural to me but at the same time we're only at episode 3 and I watched those new episodes only once... |

"What Kate Does" is one of those episodes i've been talking about, just a filler in the season. Usually they don't appear so early on in a season, but like you said ruzom, it's transitional. As it is, there's 13 episodes with a double finale left in the show. There's plenty of time left.
The only annoying thing coming up is the break for the winter olympics
This is straight from Damon Lindelof's twitter:
For those of you complaining of "filler." Seriously. PLEASE WATCH NCIS: LOS ANGELES. I promise not to hold it against you.

i know there are lots of crackpot theories out there...after watching this week's episode i like the connections to milton's paradise lost...i never read the poem but read stuff about it on the internet....plus all my ghosts has a reference to paradise lost...my wife always asks why i have to try and connect everything back to frank black in some way..

Yeah I liked that too! Finally we're coming to "the real thing", I think I heard a while ago that the creators had said this season would be dark, I'm curious about how dark it can be from now! |

Did you feel that too? This season I often had the impression we were getting answers from the episodes when I discovered them, and after re-watching some of them I realized that it usually wasn't a very big deal, more clarifications all the way. Well, that might be the whole principle behind LOST so far but still... this could have been done on purpose, though. I'm quite curious of what's coming up next. |

I'm guessing they'll finally confirm that Richard was a slave on the Black Rock when it arrived at the island
I feel myself getting more annoyed with the recent episodes. Sure there's a few bits of info merging about The Man In Black, but that feeling of being strung along is starting to wear on my nerves.

There is a sort of a week break from new episodes (Ab Aeterno is being repeated next week from what i've read) and i guess they could be doing this as part of a hype/build up to "The Candidate" the first week in May, which presumably, will reveal Jacobs replacement and possibly lay the path (*sniff*) to the finale.
I've got theories!
But i'm holding off, cos they feel spoilerish if they turn out to be true,

I experience the show in a very similar way than yours, s wrenn! And I also have my theories I do not reveal for the same reasons... Let's not lose heart, after all "only" 4 episodes remain. |

I am willing to say that i'm sure Desmond won't be Jacobs replacement since he wasn't written on the cave roof or in the lighthouse. So exactly what Desmond is makes it all the more interesting

I've finally caught up. I think these past 3 episodes have been greater. I'm wondering how much it is going to resolved in LA as they all come together.
Who haven't we seen yet? Ecko. |

Ecko might not appear in LA, in the alternate universe he could still be a gang member. And Richard probably either died in Tenerife a very long time ago OR died in alternate 70's when the bomb destroyed the island

Thanks to a very high speed connection and a LOT of time on busses yesterday (20ish) I am now caught up and, to quote Maxwell Smart, loving it.

So is Sun not speaking to Locke after bumping her head going to be a key point? There was Claire's claim that Jack was on Locke's team because he had spoken to him (and Sayid's failed attempt to kill Locke). |

Favorite line last night was Sawyer's:
"And that pilot who looks like he stepped off a Burt Reynolds movie."
Hurley referencing Anakin was also good. |

Let's say that you guys had a lot of friends who watch LOST, and you wanted to find a location where you and your friends (and friends of friends) could gather and watch the finale together. Let's also say that none of you have a big enough house to host the part. Let's then say that one of you, let's call this fictional person Brian Vincent Salvatore, booked the upstairs of a restaurant with a big screen TV. And let's say this friend, BVS, negotiated a $25 all you can eat dinner buffet (appetizer/chicken/beef/pasta/veggie/salad) with free soft drinks/coffee, a sheet cake, tip included and a waitress who will go down to the main bar and bring up alcoholic beverages at your request.
Would you be grateful? Or would you be an asshole and say how you'd rather eat at home? Look, i know we're all not made of money, but if you can't cough up $25 for a literally once in a lifetime thing (LOST will only end once), at a really fucking good restaurant with a bar to hang out in both before and afterwards, then i don't know.
Sorry, just pissed off that people are being silly about this.

$25 is nothing! I'd love to do something like that but. . . Instead i've asked people not to call/text/visit me the night of the finale. Why? The main reason is because of people like my girlfriend (WHO DOESN'T WATCH LOST AT ALL), she said she would love to watch the finale with me and i just said no. Straight up no. Because i'm not going to spend 2 and a half hours explaining stuff when i'm watching the finale to such an epic saga.
I'll be talking about this show for years, telling people "*insert future series* is crap, when Lost was on back in the day...", and being a Lostie nerd about it

In response to both Sean's and Brian's posts, one of my first projects when I get home will be to add a Facebook-style "I Like This" button to various posts. Well, not really, but enjoy guys! I'd love to be at your party Bri and would pay that happily even on backpacker budget.

Well my theory was that Jacob and MiB would be twins, and hey, i was right!
Originally i thought that Jacob was going to be Charlie Jr (As in Desmond's son Charlie) And MiB would be David Shepard (Somehow torn through a parallel universe, becoming the smoke monster as a result)

Asking a question in Season 1 Episode 6 and not getting around to an answer for almost 6 years in Season 6 Episode 15 has got to be a record.
As a fan who's watched every episode, I'd completely forgotten about them.
Goodness knows how many more questions will be answered in the end.

I saw it indeed (Luckily RTÉ is only 2 days behind ABC for new episodes)
One question from Across The Sea that bugs me is that if MiB lived with Claudia's people for 30 years, what did they refer to him as? They would have had to give him some sort of a name!
