The fans want them to go down the players and your manager will have more affinity(sp?) with West Ham than Wigan and ourselves. Your star centre half is playing his brother for one!

Sigh, why us, we constantly manage to somehow blow everything. Thanks a bunch Man Utd. How many times over the past 10 years have you lost to teams in the bottom half at home? 2 or 3? Mental. Regardless we paid for being shit away from home. I'd congratulate Wigan but in doing that I'm congratulating about 6 people so I wont bother. Sour grapes....Im off to get drunk.

Us 6 are fucking ecstatic!
I know this will mean nothing to you at this time, but I'd say every single Wigan fan wishes it had been West Ham and not you and your fans were so very gracious applauding us after the game. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm rubbing it in coming on here, I am genuinely gutted for Sheffield United and their fans and am gutted that the cheats from East-London have survived.

Are you still ecstatic now that Jewell has resigned? Bit of a shocker. If you're smart you'll get Chris Coleman, if not...well....roeder

It's not than any fans really want him out, I'm sure most would be delighted if he stays, it just sometimes seems he's taken us as far as he can and it's time for someone else to give it a go.

Well you were right, he's gone.
Well done on staying up though. Malax, sorry we couldn't help you out. They rode their luck a bit, but to be honest, we weren't great.
I know oyur chairman is gonna have a go, but I don't think he will get anywhere with his appeal.

There's a press conference at 3 o'clock this afternoon to address the Paul Jewell situation. Some think we'll even be a announcing a new manager (plus there's plenty rumours of Chris Coleman being spotted in Wigan this morning).
Other names mentioned are Stu Pearce and Mike Newell and...maybe...Roeder. I hope it is Coleman though.
Might even be PJ's assistant Chris Hutchings, but I would've thought he'd go wherever Jewell goes.
[EDIT] Yep, it's Hutchings, possibly a rushed decision considering the managers available, but at least he'll have maximum time to get us sorted for next season.

Could have had Warnock if you'd have waited another 48hours.....possibly.

Yeah sounds like he wants out now.
I think Wigan should have looked to the lower leagues. Perhaps Scunthorpe.

Hey Homer, looks like ManU got Hargreaves now. Apparently they pay Bayern 25m€ and are giving him 7m€ per year. |

Apparantly so. He's overpriced, but then English players always are.
I am happy though, he's a good player. I like his work rate, the man never stops running.

Yeah I saw that today on Sky Sports. It might not be coincidence, but it's probably just a precaution, in case they do win. However they won't, sadly.

I thought his act was getting stale with the Gooners anyway. Adebayor is more than capable. Still a top 4 team..

It's a sad day for the Premiership when a player of Henry's quality leaves. Still, I'm happy not to face him next year.

Can I still post here? Bolton bloke will get sacked soon, so will Hutchings. We pay 4million for a player half as good as Hulse then theres talk of us selling Hulse for 2million hmmmm. Kenwyne Jones is worth 5million Jon Stead is worth 1million! Steven Gerrard cunts us out of 3 penaltys last season and Villa out of free kick this season just for having Gerrard on his back. Chelsea get awarded a dodgy penalty and poor old Stevie crys about it. Ref gets 1month ban. Why was no banned for the numerous atrocious decisions given against SUFC/any smaller team last season? Because its not Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal/Man U.
The premiership is a corrupt pile of crap.

It seems a lot of pundits are now taking Liverpool seriously as contenders for the title. I don't think they are just yet, but if they keep it up it would certainly make it more interesting near the top.
Does anybody think they have genuine chance of winning the league?

It's interesting to look back and see what we all thought of Heskey when he signed for us. I was gutted at first, but he's been well worth the money. He's been sensational for Wigan, and now Wayne Rooney will be shitting himself about his England place (okay, maybe not), but I'm proud of the Heskeylator. First Wigan player to ever start for England.

I was in Wigan last Saturday and I noticed a lad with the England away top with Heskey on the back. He must have been waiting for the first Wigan player to get called up before he went out and bought it.
This is only a slight on him, but I thought, 'that's a bit sad'.

Haha, he's too Heskey for his shirt!
I must admit I did think about getting an England shirt with Heskey on the back. You're right, it's a bit sad, but it's quite funny really to think that someone (probably more than just him too) was waiting for that moment. I was very proud to see him line up for England though.

Yeah that's fair enough. It's always nice to see players from your club represent your country, but still......waiting for it so you could get the players name on the shirt?
