You would now assume that 2 of the 3 relegation spots are filled. Leaving, Charlton, Wigan, United and Fulham to fill the final spot. I would like it to be Wigan cos I think Jewell is a prick and they are a nothing club with poor/fickle support, Fulham are similar I admit so either would do fine. Funny feeling it will be Fulham that go though. Hopefully anyway.

I'm pretty confident my nothing club will stay up. Last few games we've looked far better than West Ham and Sheffield and we should be comfortably beating teams like those to stay up. I think 4 more points will do it for us.
Tough away game at Liverpool next week though. Not expecting owt from that.

Ha, if you want to dispute your club being a nothing club then I'm here to hear your arguments. West Ham won 3 games in a row, its all well and good looking better than us and them but you have to take points, which you aren't doing. Our form against the bottom sides is one of the best in the division and we have, Wigan (H), Watford (H), Villa (A), Charlton (A), hardly a terrible runin aslong as you ignore our away form and that our game in hand is against Man Utd. But we are Sheffield United we are capable of messing anything up.

It's gonna be a tough game on Tuesday now against you boys. Then again, so will West Ham for Chelsea. The Hammers simply HAVE to win, and Chelsea's look has to run out soon.
Spawny again on Sunday, but credit once again to their winning attitude. See them in the final.

I'm not disputing anything. We're a small club, we accept it. I just find it hillarious when fans of other clubs come out with the same old cliches.
It's not just you, fans of other clubs who have won fuck all in the last 20 years come out with the 'nothing club' statement. Cracks me up every time

We may not have won anything, but your a small town club who haven't had to work for your premiership status. Over the past, what? 5 years or since Whelan came in you've had it easy, same as Chelsea but on a smaller scale. Without Whelan you would still be getting crowds of about 4000 and be in the Conferance. If however your not one of the 15,000 new fans then I applaud you. The reason I consider you a nothing club is for that exact reason you have 'fans' who suddenly come out of the woodwork when things get good. Every team has this to an extent. Now excuse me if we haven't won anything but if we are debating the size of my club, we are million miles away from you, in terms of history, size, crowds, everything, bar money. If you go down it will be down to poor management nothing more, the money he had/has should easily have been enough to push on from last season. You go down and its at the very most the division you should rightfully be in.

I agree with most of what you've said. Sheffield United are a bigger club than us, we know that and accept it. I agree with you when you say if we go down it's nobody's fault but our own. But to say we haven't had to work for our Premiership stauts is simply ridiculous and downright disrespectful to the people that achieved it. The division you are 'rightfully in' is wherever you are at present.
Oh and Dave Whelan's been here about 12 years now. Now if some millionaire businessman from Sheffield wanted to take over your club what would you say? "No, we don't want any money"? Come off it!
[EDIT] Actually, I've just found a picture on my old mobile phone from when we were both in the Championship. Not good quality, but it's here.

If a billionaire came in for us I think many would be against it but I wouldn't be to concerned one way or another (look at West Ham though), however we would already be a stable top/2nd tier football club. We toiled for 12 years in one division sold player after player and finally got up last season. Explain to me how buying your way into the top division from the bottom is the same? The work involved has been next to nothing compared to many teams who fight there way out of divisions and go through rough times. Looking at your age I'm presuming this season is as close to a rough season that you have ever seen. Which is just amazing for a team that isn't one of the 'big' 4. However I do conceed using the term 'haven't worked' is a tad harsh.

It's not as if we've only existed since 1995 you know, we applied for football league status 35(!) times before finally being accepted (we even applied to the Scottish league and got rejected!). If those days weren't a struggle I don't know what is.
Now I wasn't around back then, but I'm thankful to those who were and made where we are today possible. To say our club has had it easy is a huge understatement. I'd suggest reading up on our non-league history if you're interested enough.
Now I personally have been fortunate enough to be supporting the club in it's most successful spell. Lucky me! I realise we won't always have it this good, but I'll be doggoned if I'm not going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Yeah he outscored Larsson in Sweden last season alongside him. He could be the key to our survival.

I think Chelsea's luck ran out today. I haven't seen a crappier team than NU in the Prem over the last season and a half (for a big club), and they Chelseas totally choked it today.
At least ManU vs Portsmouth was expected to be an intense showdown. Chelsea knew going in that they had the title in their hands, and they blew it. I expect ManU to win out.

I was very upset on Saturday. I really thought we had thrown it away. I still can't believe Chelsea did likewise yesterday.
It' still gonna go down to the last game of the season though.

Can't believe Chelsea missed the chance to close the gap. I also think it will go down to the last day of the season, much like the relegation places, but I think United will come out on top. I reckon it'll be a draw at Stamford Bridge when the two play each other.

Just got my tickets for the last game of the season at Sheffield. Can't wait! I'm hoping we're both safe by then, but if we fail to beat West Ham this week it looks like we'll need something from the game, which is gonna make it tense!
If we both need a point, maybe we can come to some sort of 'arrangement'?

You would suspect if we both needed a point it would happen. However I'm hoping we are safe by then. Watford at home then Villa away. Before Wigan, 4 points from those two games could see us safe.

Realistically, if we can both manage four points before we play each other we should both be safe, since Charlton have some tough fixtures. Anything can happen yet though, won't take anything for granted until the end of the season.

The hopeful possibility now is that you have to come to the lane either needing a point or worse a win and we could potentially need nothing. Meaning we could relegate you. Recent Paul Jewell comment after moaning about things not going Wigans way, "I'll be quiet now, I'm begining to sound like Neil Warnock" also after beating you at the JJB and complaining about Warnock he goes onto say "we are however many places above them and I'd rather be in our position than theirs" Eat your words time? Heres hoping.

Heh. Have you got a little diary of Paul Jewell comments? I thought Neil Warnock and Paul Jewell were good friends from back when he was Wednesday manager? I wouldn't take anything the two say about each other too seriously, it's just a joke.
Anyway, you're safe now, enjoy! After today's shite it's not harsh to say we deserve to go down, but we'll give it a go.

Surprised to see Allardyce leave Bolton yesterday. I hope he doesn't go to Manchester Shitty.

It's been on the cards since he showed his feelings about wanting the England job last year. Plus all this bung business, it was bound to happen. Seems odd to do it 2 games before the end of the season though, especially when they're fighting for a European spot.

And when there are no better jobs going. That was why it surprised me.
Apparently Bolton wouldn't back him with funds though. They told him he had to raise the cash through sales.

Hmmm, very very very nervous and massive game next week. We are strongly in the driving seat as for us to go down we would need to lose and west ham to get something at Man Utd. Normally this scenario would be unthinkable. But with Man Utd probably sealing the title before then....who knows. Would be gutting if we went down in that case.

You do owe them. But Curbs and Sir Alex. Quick chat, fancy a draw? Yeah why not, your one of the nicer blokes in football. Problem solved. We shouldn't have to rely on you anyway, month or so ago we were 10points clear and we are at home to an inferior team. If we go down we want shooting.

I forgot Wigan had to win.
Sorry Stu, but I reckon you are going down. We will beat West Ham (Fergie has said he will rest players against Chelsea, not West Ham so that it's for on the relgation-threatened teams), but Sheffield United will get something against Wigan. I just can't see Wigan winning any game right now. They can't score.

Whats betting 0-0 at halftime at Bramall Lane. If the game is beyond West Ham ie 2 or 3-0 the second half sees Wigan edge a late winner sending everyones favourite relegation threatened team down.

I've more or less accepted being in the Championship next season, I'm already looking forward to certain matches. In fact it could do us a world of good. We'd probably get a new manager, have a clearout of players and make a fresh start. Four years ago we were celebrating getting in that division for the first time, so it's a long way from being disaterous if we end up back there.
That said, I'd love a joint celebration in Sheffield on Sunday at the expense of West Ham. Anything can happen.

Probably. I can see him moving on to a bigger club in the summer, especially if we go down.
It's not than any fans really want him out, I'm sure most would be delighted if he stays, it just sometimes seems he's taken us as far as he can and it's time for someone else to give it a go.

A change is definately good. Someone who doesn't bitch about things out of his control, instead someone who takes responsibility for his and his team's own short comings. I like Wigan. I don't want to see them go down. Believe me, Man U will do their best to send West Ham heading in their right direction.
