Three nights ago i had a dream that combined the TV show Lost with the video game Far Cry. I was on the island being shot at by merceneries while trying steal a jeep so i could get back to the beach. Aspects of both the game and the show seemed to fit very well.
What i'd like to know is if anyone has had any weird dreams that involved celebrities and odd situations. Maybe you had a dream sbout Frank Black. Maybe he was wearing a novelty hat.
Please post the most whacky of your dreams. If you have no Whacky ones, you may submit a zany dream instead.

I had a dream about being on tour with Frank and Kim a few weeks ago. There was a dinosaur chasing us. Then it got hot so we went for ice cream.

Far Cry is really good!, eh? I've just played the first one for the x-box.
As far as Frank dreams go, I usually have quite a few. One just got answered though with fm/rm.(boy was that sappy)

Ha ha, sappy indeed. I think they are making a movie out of far cry. The dream was made even weirder by the fact the i was getting shot all the time, but didn't die.

I had a dream a few hours ago that me and some friends were crawling through some really small tunnels whilst singing No.13 Baby. Then when we got out we were like celebrities with people saying stuff like "Woah, you're those guys from the tunnel who were singing the Pixies!" Then we were all watching the Pixies at a festival and all had tickets for a holiday somewhere in Europe, given to us for free because of our tunnel singing exploits!
The funny thing about dreams is that they don't seem weird until you wake up!

In what way does Frank Black appearing in and influencing someone's unconcious thoughts not have anything to do with Frank Black?
I see what you mean though. Not appropriate for the general FB chat section.

"Maybe you had a dream about Frank Black." I was hoping for something more along the lines of a general FB dream thread. It was moved anyway, so what's the confusion??
This this thread is old, coupled with the fact that it turns out this has already been done, i'm surprised it hasn't been closed.

Lots has been done and redone, but new members come and go, so we're not too picky as long as it isn't recent.

I had an eewwwy dream last night. I was driving down a street which had a grassy median strip approx. 10 feet wide running down the center. This street was hilly and long, like a major residential strip in which smaller residential streets pour out onto from cul-de-sacs.
The grass on the median was lumpy, and suddenly I was with my mother (please no Freudian comments) who informed me that if I were to dig at those lumps, I would uncover chunks of cooked boneless chicken meat. Within the frame of this dream, this sounded delicious! Before I knew it, I was on the median ripping up chunks of chicken meat from the grass and chowing down.
I came across a rather large lump which was very close to a small structure (about the size of a small garden/treehouse thing) which I assumed housed electrical stuff and environmental controls for the sprinkler system lining the median. I tore into the lump of grass and retrieved a football sized chunk of chicken meat. However, this piece of meat oozed a terrible spoiled odor. Upon closer inspection through a large crater in the meat I saw the back of a set of teeth. I realized this was a decomposing human head. That same smell was also wafting from the waterworks structure. I peaked over the top of it, and down inside were two abandoned decapitated human bodies in terrible state of rot. They had been murdered, mutilated, and stuffed in there.
Next thing I knew I was reporting to the authorities my find.
Then my alarm woke me.

All right. Last night I had another doozy.
I was in a Frank Lloyd Wright-type house with a bunch of people (some were family, some were co-workers, some were folks my head made up, and yet within the dream I knew them) and we were having a feast (Thanksgiving thoughts?). I meandered over to the table of food, and there was an extravagant spread of doughnuts. The ones that caught my eye specifically were the 4th of July-ish ones; red, white, and blue. And they were delicious! My father had brought these. The icing was metallic...almost luminescent. The blue were almost a grey, the red were almost a pink, and the white, silver. So much for the dream-only-in-black-and-white theory.
Anyway, I made my way outside, where I was deposited via slide (!) into a rather large parking lot of a department store. And on the East Coast, to boot. How I can prove this, I don't know. I just know that's where I was geographocally. So, the department store had showers in it that the public could use if they so wished. Suddenly I was talking to a friend (?) and explaining how in the past I had used these public department store showers...how some were nice and private, while others were not. Within the dream, this made for very good conversation, by the way.
I went home (or wherever I was staying in the dream) with this 'friend' to a two-story house, and figured it was bedtime. I went into a bedroom with this 'friend', we both got in the same bed, and I noticed there were two other beds in this room which were occupied by people I 'knew'. The lights were turned out, and I actually fell asleep in my dream.
I awoke in the dream to hear some grunting noises, followed by scratching sounds, and the smell of smoke. Focusing in the dark, my senses were suddenly honed in the direction of the bedroom door. There, standing in the darkened doorway, was an extremely tall, sihlouetted skinny figure all in black, donning a black fedora...even the head and face were obscured in black (the head was a little larger than a potato)...but it had bright yellow eyes. And this figure, angular, and yet frumpy, too tall, too skinny, but ominous nevertheless, stood there...seething and staring at me, growling and giving off that burning scent. It was terrifying but awesome.
The others in the room stirred, which alarmed the black figure, and as soon as the others fully realized the situation, the thing in the door turned and fled. Once it was gone, the fear really set into me.
Then I awoke for real, staring straight at my own doorway, fearing the thing was really on the other side. I also was drenched in sweat...my whole body wet and shivering. I calmed myself down, attributing this to the fact I have again quit smoking (I'm in my 48th hour) and am withdrawling.

I dreamt of Floop last night.
I've never even met Floop, though we have been at the same shows in the past.
I dreamt I was in a marina, navigaing a small boat. It was night time, and this marina was lost...forgotten...I had no idea where I was. The few vessels there were docked were dilapidated and ignored. The water was still and dirty. In the far, far distance were what appeared to be automated oil rigs...slightly glowing and groaning, but lost behind a scrim of fog and blocked by chain link fences. I was alone, nervous...no money, no clue where I was...scared and without hope. The small boat I drove was running out of gas, so I decided to pull up along an abandoned yacht. Once inside, I found some old groceries and clothes, and a small lamp which I lit for warmth. The weather outside was getting windy and rainy, knocking the yacht about on the swells. Without knowing what else to do, I decided to nap. Someone boarded the yacht, and woke me up. It was Floop, who was somewhat angry about a stranger being on his boat. I introduced myself, as somehow I knew it was Floop, as Transmarine. Floop's girlfriend (?) appeared, decided to fix some dinner for all of us, and we chatted about frankblack.net. The yacht slowly begin to transform into the garage of an old childhood house from real life. Once it was established I was now inside my old garage, and not Floop's yacht in an abandoned marina, my nervousness subsided, and I awoke from this dream...extremely thirsty and having to pee.

I had a dream last week where I was in the mall, and I saw some pictures that I had signed. See, someone on this forum was drawing pictures and getting everyone on here to sign them, and I was among the people who did.

Whoa, VoVat's back. When did that happen?

Well, since the forum was involved in the dream, I thought you should all know about it. We'll see if we can keep up with the forum. Considering that the first page of General Chat has topics from almost a week ago, it looks like it shouldn't be as hard as it once was.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention yesterday that I did actually have a dream about VoVat the other night, which is quite weird since we've never met. I can't remember at all what the dream was about though. Oh and then I dreamt about Mick Foley (a pro-wrestler/author) selling me a signed photograph from a market stall.

for some reason the song "Modern Age" from "Devil's Workshop" has dream connections with me
I haven't actually had the dream YET - but when I hear it I sort of imagine a dream. A dream of meeting a man with no little toe and a real big head. I think of a dream of being down by the shore where they're still lathering - and meeting a man who hands me his business card - it says "hunting and gathering"
Once I had a semi lucid dream where I was on a boat and Frank himself was there - we were watching the whales in the ocean below us and I was singing "Heloise" - I turned to Frank and said - "Heloise" is from "Devil's Workshop" - that always felt like a dream album to me. that should have clued me in that I was having a dream at that moment - but the dreamsign just floated right on by and I didn't clue in - could've been another great lucid dream but it was not meant to be |

well I can talk all night about lucid dreams ......but I should probably meet you on a different board to go over all that - you know, the board with the unicorns all over it
but seriously - lucid dreams are REAL and you can learn to have them more often and make them last longer |

Weird. Forum members are constantly dreaming about other forum members, especially ones they've never met. I think we should all pitch in to pay a psychologist to analyze this phenomenon.

I've often wondered what forum members who I've never seen look like. I don't know why but I always imagined Carl to look like Dean Lennox Kelly (Kev from Shameless).
I have no idea why I have certain images in my mind when I think of forum members. Do you look anything like this Carl?
