I am not sure. They have the best trained military (the British), so I guess they should rule the universe.

I watched 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure' earlier. It involved them travelling through time to collect famous people from history to help them prevent failing their history class which would result in Ted being sent to military school (or something along those lines).

Overall I thought the film was totally non-triumphant, dudes.

I seem to remember 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey' being better than this one.

The new season of Friends will be rated R for 'predagore' and alien violence.

AvP, wow! what a crap movie. There has only been one really good Predator movie, and that was the first one.

I watched Blade Runner for only the second time last night, and the first time since I was too young to really appreciate it. I now appreciate it more.

This week-end I tried to download AvP several times but they were all fakes, so instead of it I got:

- Easy Rider: for some reason I had never seen it. Good stuff. I thought it would feel dated but it's still a good movie. The soundtrack holds up to its reputation.
- Mission Impossible 2: ok, I have to admit it was a bit crappy. Some action scenes are really good though (excellent opening scene on Monument Valley) and Thandie Newton spends the whole movie without a bra, and she has the nicest pair of tits ever.
- Back To The Future 3: definitely not as good as the first 2.
- Shaun of the Dead: how anyone can not like this movie is beyond me.

i started watching THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN the other night but fell asleep. not because it was boring but just because i was really tired. i spent the day moving a lot of boxes and then worked out. did more push ups than i usually do because i hadn't worked out in about 2 weeks. plus i didn't have much sleep the night before.

i still want to see the rest of it though

i bet Predator could move a shit-load of boxes and not get tired

i found out that Richard Linklater is doing the sequal to THE LAST DETAIL, based on the book THE LAST FLAG FLYING, using the original cast from the first one (except Morgan Freeman will be playing "Mule")..

http://imdb.com/title/tt0465516/

Morgan Freeman is a good choice, although Carl Weathers might have been good too (who, of course, was in PREDATOR)

i saw the first episode of the reformed cast of friends last night. two new
charecters played by alien and predator are rumored to be living in the boiler room of the friends building. the notorious duo (who went unseen last night) are already the talk of tabloids making some if not all of the original cast members jealous not to mention a bit uneasy "i still have not seen a single 'handler' for these things" david schwimmer was heard saying nervously " i mean geez the baby duck (second season) even had a trainer". it turns out that none of the actors were informed of the new talent. in scenes from next week joey complains of a horrid stench in his apartment and nobody knows where chandler is. sources say the "new friends" as some fans are calling it, has a more current reality tv feel "kinda like surviver".

I just watched 'Being John Malkovich'. Cool film, really quite bizarre. I coudln't help but wonder though, what would this film have been like, had it been entitled 'Being Predator'?

I heard about them planning a sequel a good while back, before a director was attached. Interesting. BTW, The Andromada Strain is a good movie (director Robert Wise died last year).

Homers, are you suggesting a movie poster for Being Predator?!

I've watched Anchorman, the Legend of Aien Vs Prdator.
It was in english without subtitles. It was easy because there's nothing to understand. It's funny but not as hilarious as Zoolander. I understand it has never been released in France.

i tried to continue watching ANDROMEDA STRAIN last night, but, again, fell asleep. again, not because it's boring (although it is pretty slow) but because i was so tired.

i'm at the point where they're testing the the strain on the lab rats and monkeys. made me think of the the shooting horses thread. they obviously drugged or gassed those animals to make them pass out like that, which isn't cool.

yeah, Robert Wise was pretty bad ass. he was supposed to speak at my school once but was too sick to make it. he started out as an editor (edited CITIZEN KANE!) and went on to have a pretty amazing career..

ANDROMEDA STRAIN is a great movie. i highly recommend getting to the end floop. weird, but great.

quite unlike A v P which is total rubbish. even terminator 3 is better!
i feel they have tarred the amazing reputation that Alien and Predator built up independantly of each other.
sure, Alien 1 + 2 and Predaotr 1 are they only mindblowingly good ones, but fuck me if they aren't 3 of the best movies ever made.
Alien 1 is top of the A&P pile for me, but mrs benji has predator 1 as her favourite movie of all time.....but she's a little weird like that.

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

Since the discussion is back... Yesterday I made a new thread for each new CD I got. And it did work quite well actually, I got a couple of answers (mostly from moderators, but still...). But frankly I don't see the point of creating one to say I watched Easy Rider on tv last week. Maybe I should just shut up, after all, who cares about what I saw on tv...

I do if it's hardcore porn, and with you living in France, it could well be.

We don't have hardcore porn on tv in France! Only on pay-per-view and cable. Although I do get a free porn channel at home which is funny. It's Blue Hustler (or Hustler Blue, can't remember), and from what I understand their programs aren't rated X as long as they don't show any penetration. So what you get is unsimulated sex scenes where they use every camera angle and every object they have at hand to hide the penetrations. It is very explicit actually, you see everything except the point where the actual penetration takes place. It's funny to watch, the cameramen are geniuses.

It's not the point, it's not about starting a new thread for every single film you've watched. If no one has anything to say about easy rider (and you suspect no one will) then posting that you've seen it is adding to a list. If you watched a film that you thought was brilliant and worth further discussion then it merits its own thread.
