Here's a lower-case alphabet for you, Sean. Copy and paste these characters to write proper posts until you get a new keyboard.
a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x x z
Hope I didn't miss any. And I hope you're not going to try to post in Russian or whatever. I don't have those characters.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

I suppose there are some common phrases you might want to use. For example:
Suck my balls, PixieSteve.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

s_wrenn, I am losing my sarcasm detector, from memory, it's a sign of impending senility.
I have had continuing battles with Microsoft's accessibility StickyKeys. I think in Microsoft's view you are either 1A or Pinball Wizard. |

May I jump in with some actual advice-seeking from jimmy? If you've resolved the keyboard issues.

jimmy, I am alternating between listening to heart-wrenching songs and crying and then laughing out loud at KOK's posts. You think I should stop listening to Tori Amos non-stop when I'm home sick for three days? Any advice, jimmy?

It's your time off; you can do whatever you want. Get well soon.
I mean I "like" coastline's idea. Not "kile".

I wonder if Seán's keyboard is still broken... I think that would be funny in real life. It would be like:
"Hey, what's up?" "OH, NOTHING!!! JUST GOING FOR A WALK!!!!" "Damn, you don't have to yell, I'm right here." "SORRY, MY "TALK AT A NORMAL VOLUME" KEY IS BROKEN!!!!!!"
actually, that doesn't make any sense.

jimmy, I can't seem to name a single problem in my life at the moment -- at least not beyond mundane stuff like I don't really get enough sleep anymore and I miss my wife, who travels a lot. Do you think my lack of significant problems is a problem? Is fate likely to deal me some serious blows right now? Cuz it usually does when I haven't had something go wrong for very long.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Dear coastline, I'm glad to hear everything is going so well. I guess all I can say is: take a moment to plan ahead. Do you have a couple first aid boxes, plus it's a good idea to carry a couple band-aids in your wallet if you have the room. Do you have an escape plan for the family if the smoke detector goes off, a meeting place? I don't know, things like that. Good night, jimmy

jimmy, lately i've been thinking about trying to re-invent myself on the forum under a different name, and convince people that i'm not floop but someone new completely.. i'm wondering how it worked for you. was it difficult during the transition? |

dear jimmy,
I'm going to the City tomorrow night. And by the City, I mean San Francisco - I should have just said that up front and saved us both some time.
My dilemma is - I can go early and catch a meal with some friends, or I can go later and miss dinner. I think dinner will probably be at some vegetarian place, and I'm not vegetarian. The food and people will probably still be good, but if I go later, I can get straight to the bar and get a beer.
Also, should I try to go to the show early and see the opening band, or try to time it so I just see Black Francis? Last time the Kentucky Prophet opened up, and I have to say that I didn't enjoy it. But sometime I do enjoy the opening band.
What do you think?
Qu'ils aillent se faire foutre <-- yeah, what he said. |

Let me jump in here for a second, since 1) jimmy once said I'd make a good assistant, and 2) jimmy has never indicated that he even knows who Frank Black is. Isn't Frank Black opening for himself these days -- with his acoustic guitar? As for the dinner part, I'm sure jimmy would prefer I let him give a witty answer to that.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

So long as it's a free for all. Jefrey I'm afraid you're screwed either way. When faced with a dilemma like this Sod's Law dicatates that the opening act will be horrendous if you go and utterly splendid if you don't. That's the price we pay for lacking confidence. You're ok either way with the vegetarian though, not a lot of variation there.

STFU, trobrianders. You're not an official assistant to jimmy, and you shouldn't be trying to dole out advice. You're not trained.
