I already bought NSE, it was in my mail today, and I assumed by the time I listened to the podcast on Friday it was long over.

I've seen a few clips with EDF on guitar but I'm pretty sure he's not the fifth...

New podcast is up. "The Junk Drawer" - lots of interesting and rare things with no real theme. The last of our backlog of pre-recorded podcasts. What will next month hold? Your guess is as good as mine (well, not quite as good, i have some ideas...but you get my drift).

Thanks so much for Radio Lizards! I've been hoping to hear such a version. It's better than I thought it could be. |

You're welcome. I'm surprised more people haven't commented about it - it is one of the most speculated about/anticipated exclusives we've ever aired, as people knew it existed.

I never saw it coming.
I've spent the past few months listening to two solid records and one little acoustic track has blown them both out of the water. |

Glad you guys are liking it... I think the Christmass version is interesting (and like that FB plays around like that) but you'd really have to dig through the layers to get at the magnificent kernel that is the guitar version.

All of the tracks minus Radio Lizards (which we cannot give away) are readily available via bootleg trading or buying physical product (like the Sing for Joy and Holiday Song). Dean and i don't have magic stashes of super rare stuff (well, we have a little of that...), but we mainly have what the fans are generally circulating. So poke around the site a little and you should be able to find most of this stuff.

Because I'm angry!
And I kinda thought it was relevant to the junk drawer aspect... |

Thanks for the Junk Drawer episode. Many things I had never heard. I liked the one I can't pronounce after the brief union song.
I think the alt Radio Lizards is awesome. I think I prefer it, but that might be because it's a theme that I already had implanted in my brain by the original version.
I don't think that I would like the original if I had first known the alt. |

Hearing a live Sing for Joy makes me wonder if Honeycomb would have been better received if there had been a Honeycomb tour. The song came more alive. |

New podcast out today: Tuesday Cloudy Pompton Lakes Work Day: a look at the music of Doug Sahm (and Freddy Fender), and the influence it had on Frank Black, featuring an interview with Doug's son, Shawn.

SSMVGD is an FB album named after a song he didn't write. What other album of his is named after a song he didn't write?

Reunited - ramble on.
That version of Dog Gone is horrendous. Bango and strings? Really? (disclaimer: posting before hearing end of podcast, perhaps you'll defend that dog) |

Nope, no defense. The rest of the podcast was great. A few of those I should probably know where they're from but I don't. Where was that version of Bill Jocko from?
Did you forget your tease at the beginning (or not)? |
