I do, I do. But I like their ticket prices more.
My sister asked me if I wanted to go thirds on a treat for our parents. Of course I said yes. What I didn't know then is the treat is two tickets to go see the Stones. £200!!!

I do like a few of their songs, Son. I just don't seem to have the patience to listen past their obvious hits. Actually, i lie. I have no desire inside whatsoever to listen to any RS song unless it comes on the radio and I can't be bothered to change station.

I would have said Bob Dylan. But he's had quite a few mentions already.

I like to think that the Kinks were the Pixies of the 60s. (Not sure I'm right though.)

agree, a bit overrated, but "she's a rainbow" is brilliant.

The stones (and the kinks) I like selectively. In other words, I really love about half their catelogue, but the rest I can throw away. It helps if you like that blues-rock crossover. Muddy waters and bo diddley and chuck berry type stuff.

I agree on The Stones. Paint It Black their only song I'd often listen to.

I'll agree with Dean on Guided by Voices. Others that come to mind are the Residents (although they have a lot of albums, and it's possible I've just been listening to the wrong ones), the Replacements, and Pavement. And I'm not particularly fond of the Stones either, but I can't say I ever really tried to get into them.

2) I have the demos but when will Peeping Tom come out? How about May 30th! Finally, huh?

3) Will the FantômasMelvins Big Band ever play again? Stay tuned for details on some European dates in April!"

It took me a long time to get into them so there is hope for everyone. Until recently I thought they were extremely overrated.

yeah, it took me almost 10 years from I was first introduced to them. everyone kept playing "VU and Nico" for me. Granted, some of it was good, but I didn't get the hype. I wasn't until last year that I heard the "peel slowly" box set that it began to dawn on me. If I had heard "Loaded" from the begining, maybe things would've been different.

VU And Nico is probably the one most people hear first. You kind of get bored of it. White Light/White Heat is one of their best, some beutiful songs on the third album, too. Loaded has some great songs as well, Who Loves The Sun?, Sweet Jane, Oh! Sweet Nuthin', for instance. The intro to Sweet Jane is beautiful.

Good Topic

The Rolling Stones - I like the hits but, never enjoyed a full album

Ryan Adams - Hit and miss with this guy. He has some very good songs but, I've never liked a complete album.

REM
Pearl Jam
Joy Division

My Bloody Valentine - I hear that they are great. I've only heard a few songs but, not intrigued enough to buy something by them.

-Opinions were like kittens I was giving them away-

definitely Pearl Jam.

I've heard all sorts of good things about franz ferdinand as well, but I've sat through a couple of videos recently and while the songs are vaguely catchy, I'm left with the strange impression the band is actually mocking me for listening to them. I guess I just don't like their whole zeitgeist...

their music is fun and dancy. they are a great party band. the kind of music you can love intensely for a night or two, and then easily forget.

I'm aware that I am a frowned upon minority when I say that I actually enjoy New Order a lot more than Joy Division. I haven't figured out what it is about Joy Division that does it for so many people.

I've never really gotten into Husker Du either. They're just not anything I'm particularly interested in; the songs don't really strike me and I don't like the sound of the recordings.

I've never been all that astounded by Fugazi.

Going back to The Velvet Underground; I'm not that taken by VU & Nico, to be honest... though I love Loaded. Sweet Jane, Rock and Roll, Who Loves the Sun, etc etc.
