"Sad Man's Song" = "Fare Thee Well," and it should close disc two.

You're welcome.

So, what do we know about the FM/RM songs? Given that floop doesn't want to share his copy (even though I offered him quite some money for it), I have to do with the songs that already got leaked.
So for now we got Dog Sleep on the podcast. Not my fave FB song but it has an excellent intro and a grrreat ending guitar solo. In fact it's a very good song. Then the 4 Honeycomb leftovers. Haven't heard the new podcast yet but from what I understand it's the same version, only remixed. Where the Wind is Going was good; I loved Kiss My Ring and Sad Man's Song but found the organ solo on KMR quite weak. Hope they worked on the mix.
Then we got scruvs' videos of the solo show, and My Terrible Ways sounds fabulous. The "Rabbit" song is cool too. And I guess that's all for now. All in all the new album is looking good and I have high hopes for it.

I love Guitar Wolf from the Erath!

I think Johnny Barleycorn will be the defacto favourite on FM/RM, but there are lots of great tracks, dark, moody, soft. My Terrible Ways looks like it should be pretty good, don't have the second half of the album, but the live version was pretty cool. Where The Wind Is Going has yet to grow on me.

All in all, I really like SMYT. I'd say this album will be the missing stepping-stone between SMYT and Honeycomb, it's a little of both worlds. But that's from someone who's only heard half...

I hope you're right! Because I missed the SMYT-esque FB on Honeycomb.

It seems to have some of the old mixed time signatures. Kind of throws you off in a good way.

Back Porch has been pretty good about letting us use what we have so far, so we don't want to push our luck with an unreleased album, be we'll see. There's definitely a track that nobody anywhere has heard before.

I was mistaken cos' I thought it was a Springsteen cover.
But hearing it, I realized it's so typicaly Frank Black.
It reminds me of the TOTY driving songs (Calistan, Speedy Marie...).
I first bought TOTY as a tape to travel in the US with a rented car.
Pretty good way to discover that album, I can assure you...

Isn't the latter a tautology?

Is the "rabbit song" part of FM/RM? Cool song, anyway.
What do people who have heard the album think about it? Good, not so good, better than the last few? Everyone is being so secretive and quiet about it...

slightly off topic,but VERY curious,otherwise.
I am a fan of artist Holly Beth Vincent, sister of Frack Black producer,Nick Vincent, and high school friend of Morris Tepper,Eric Feldman, the crew...and it seems that our Jon Tiven has produced and written a new record with her!!
Why no mention? I've heard some of the new tracks via 'myspace' and they are excellent.
Was so surprised! Nice work, regardless with another great artist!
