Rooney is on the plane back to Germany after his scan.
Did you see Cisse's injury? Was it as bad as the last time he broke his leg? That was almost sickening.

Poor guy...at least you have Guily or Anelka on standby. [edit] - oohh, I just read that Guily had said previously he wouldn't join the squad as a stand in anyway...is that true??
Shit, how will Liverpool sell him now?
Glad Rooney is going to Germany...England have no excuses now;)

well, I tried earlier for a custom status, but no mods replied. Any chance mods?
Failing that, maybe an original painting by my daughter.

Whoa, back up on this flag stuff for a minute. Isn't _this_ the Sun article being referenced by 'ynews'? Isn't it about Soccer Hooligans and not about Muslims at all?

Meanwhile, I have won the following teams in my draft: Australia and Mexico. So I guess I won't be going very far...

As far as I can see there are two issues, one where companies are telling workers not to fly the England flag because of threats by sensitive muslims, and one where there has been an existing ban on football colours in some pubs for a couple of years in an effort to reduce hooliganism.

I think it's worse news for Liverpool. They were just about to sell him. I don't think you would have played him much, though he may have been useful to come off the bench.

Waiting for Erebus to get stuck in on the Muslims!!
Anyways, ya this is stupid. Being afraid to fly one's own flag in one's own country is ludacris. You can't help not offend some people anyways. Fuck em'. Intension is the main thing. A flag is not meant to offend anyone so. |

I am gonna watch it at home with a few frosty brews, hoping my bets come in (you gotta make it more interesting). Then I am gonna don my Polish regalia and cheer on my second team.
You can tell I am excited by this World Cup more than any other, I am actually looking forward to the opening ceremony.

Hi guys, unfortunately I had no occasion to spend quality time on fb.net during the last ten days or so. But I want to play, too. Here's the first bit, the rest will follow tomorrow before the matches:
Group A Winner: GERMANY Jun 9 17:00 UK Germany v Costa Rica 2-0 Jun 9 20:00 UK Poland v Ecuador 1-0
Bonus A....in what minute will the first goal be scored (+/-3)? 39th
And now: off to barbecue and footie!!! GO GERMANY! |

It seems many people fancy their chances from long range with the new ball too.
When Germany's opener went in I thought "Wow, the first goal of the competition may well end up being the best of the competition!"
The fourth though was an unbelievable strike, better than the first probably, one of the best I've seen in a while!
15 minutes to go...COME ON ENGLAND!

OK, here are my coplete predictions. I had them ready before the matches yesterday, just didn't have the time to post them here. And I haven't changed them, I SWEAR! I mean, I predicted Germany to recieve only one goal during the group phase. With a defence as vulnerable as that and (Berlin's own, I'm afraid) Friedrich in such a poor form, but without an alternative for his position, Gerrmany will be fun to play against...
So, Llama, I know I'm too late, but can I still play? Please?
Anyway, a bit boring and conventional, but here goes:
Group A Winner: GERMANY Jun 9 17:00 UK Germany v Costa Rica 2-0 Jun 9 20:00 UK Poland v Ecuador 1-0 Jun 14 20:00 UK Germany v Poland 1-0 Jun 15 14:00 UK Ecuador v Costa Rica 0-0 Jun 20 15:00 UK Costa Rica v Poland 0-1 Jun 20 15:00 UK Ecuador v Germany 1-3
Bonus A....in what minute will the first goal be scored (+/-3)? 39th
Group B Winner: ENGLAND Jun 10 15:00 UK England v Paraguay 1-0 Jun 10 17:00 UK Trinidad & Tobago v Sweden 0-2 Jun 15 17:00 UK England v Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 Jun 15 20:00 UK Sweden v Paraguay 2-1 Jun 20 20:00 UK Paraguay v Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 Jun 20 20:00 UK Sweden v England 1-2
Bonus B....Who'll score first for England? COLE
Group C Winner: ARGENTINA Jun 10 20:00 UK Argentina v Ivory Coast 2-1 Jun 11 14:00 UK Serbia & Montenegro v Netherlands 0-2 Jun 16 14:00 UK Argentina v Serbia & Montenegro 1-0 Jun 16 17:00 UK Netherlands v Ivory Coast 2-2 Jun 21 20:00 UK Ivory Coast v Serbia & Montenegro 0-2 Jun 21 20:00 UK Netherlands v Argentina 1-1
Bonus C....how many goals will Serbia score in total in this group? 2
Group D Winner: PORTUGAL Jun 11 17:00 UK Mexico v Iran 3-1 Jun 11 20:00 UK Angola v Portugal 0-3 Jun 16 20:00 UK Mexico v Angola 2-0 Jun 17 14:00 UK Portugal v Iran 3-0 Jun 21 15:00 UK Iran v Angola 2-3 Jun 21 15:00 UK Portugal v Mexico 1-1
Bonus D.....how many yellow cards will be given in the Por v Mex game? 2
Group E Winner: ITALY Jun 12 17:00 UK United States v Czech Republic 1-3 Jun 12 20:00 UK Italy v Ghana 1-0 Jun 17 17:00 UK Ghana v Czech Republic 0-1 Jun 17 20:00 UK Italy v United States 2-1 Jun 22 15:00 UK Czech Republic v Italy 0-1 Jun 22 15:00 UK Ghana v United States 0-2
