ohh it's snobbery, but 'we can take USA everyday' doesn't exactly say we are going to defeat them everyday.
BTW, if there's one sport people from Europe (and Africa and South America and Asia) should be snobs about to the USA, it's soccer. You already win all the other games, even the Tour de France! With american reporters saying Lance Armstrong isn't much an athlete because cycling isn't hard to do! ''If he's really an athlete he should cary another person on his back while biking the mountains''. Now that's snobbery. Of course I'm not saying that you think that, you seem to be a good person. Besides I wish the USA all the best at the WC. You would make a decent runner up, next to Oranje!

Hey, don't forget about the home team! Carried by the enthusiasm of millions of supporters and with the new and innovative coaching of Jürgen Klinsmann, last WC's finalist is surely a team to be reckoned with. Plus the german team is allways a grower, when it comes to tournaments (Ok, maybe not during the last EC, but still...).

So how come they end up in Pot 4 (well obviously I do know)? I don't agree with how they do this.

USA were arguing for a seeding. Don't make me laugh.
Keep laughing. Someday it shall be ours, just like the Tour de France.
just like the 1950 World Cup match when we clobbered the UK, making them cry like little baby men
Clobbered. Good word son!

we can take USA everyday really I don't want to be all nationalistic and stuff that would be stupid but our soccer team (we are talking about soccer right) is great Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Phillip Cocu, Dirk Kuyt, Edwin van de Sar, Rafael van der Vaart, Robin van Persie. Great players

The problem with Holland is they always play beautiful fotball but never make it to the semi finals.

I really wanted you to win in the semi-final in 2004, just because you were playing Portugal. (Weren't you?)

The only team that will beat or draw Brazil is Argentina and the only team close to either of those two clubs is Germany and that is only because they have the home crowd advantage. Brazil should be even money to win the tournament with Argentina coming in at 8/5 and the rest of the pack far behind. That is my opinion anyways.

Any of the big teams on paper have a great chance. It's just a matter of who gets the right blend in the team at that time. My money would go on Brazil or Argentina to win but I have a feeling it will be Argentina and for Riquelme, Tevez and Messi to be their outstanding performers. As for England, they're victims of their own hype. I feel sorry for Sven because he has done an amazing job for England. He lost one qualifying game and that isn't acceptable?! Crazy! I don't think it will come down to dodgy refereeing decisions, penalties, formation, Sven or any of those excuses. I think that in the past it has never dawned on the media that maybe England just weren't good enough, that they didnt have that last pieces of skill or inspiration that seperated them from the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy and France of recent times. In saying that though, this England team is the best in my lifetime I've seen. However I still feel they are a couple of truly inspirational players short of being on the same level as Brazil or Argentina. As for next manager, whoever comes in will have a hard time replacing Sven, I find it very hypocritical that so many people are against him even though he has a proven record and has won the Serie A with Lazio in his past. |

So, tonight's the night! Heidi is inviting you all to Leipzig to witness the World Cup draw.
It starts at 20.30 local time with a 50 minutes show program. Let's skip that.
Then we got ten minutes of a FIFA official explaining the rules of the draw. Wich at last takes place from 21.31 till 21.53.
Featuring:
Roger Milla at pot 1 Johan Cruyff at pot 2 Pelé at pot 3 and Lothar Matthäus at pot 4
Christian Karembeu, Lucas Radebe, Masashi Nakayama und Cobi Jones are to determine the position of the teams within their groups. Well, at least for positions 2-4, the top position beeing reserved for the seeded teams.
Good luck everyone! I keep my fingers crossed. May someone else have to deal with Portugal, Holland or the Czech Republic in their groups... |

What does "dismimss" mean? I think I will have to dismiss your comment due to a technical difficulty! Should I call them social sporting units or member supported squads or just simply and very plainly teams? I still choose to call them clubs. I have forgotten to mention how Spain will qualify through their group, draw a weaker side in the first round and lose disappointedly. Always the same ol' story for the Spaniards.

Has the draw started? I'm trying to watch it live on ESPN.soccernet. Anyone else watching. It's so exciting to see where each club gets placed (it's a joke monkey). |

Do they do it Hollywood style? A few risque dance numbers, perhaps some Scorpions, and the draws are performed by Kermit the Frog? When is the draw likely to start? I'm debating whether I should actually start working here at work. |

There has been a German magician as well as Heidi Klum.
The draw is being performed by Pele, Roger Milla (Cameroon),Cruyff, Karembeau (sp?), Cobi Jones and a few others.
Will start in a few minutes

G is the weakest, France are lucky.
I'm satisfied with Sweden's group - they should have to run a little but will have no trouble getting through the group.
