Are these the rules you're talking about Llama?

Also, as far as the prediction competition is concerned, should we go for predicting each game (3pts for a correct score, 1 point for a correct result) and submit all our predictions (right up to the final) before the tournament starts, or should we submit scores before each round (which could get messy).
Or we could just predict who goes through from each group and so on (less fun ;)
Bonus points could maybe be awarded for guessing the Golden Boot winner, the eventual winner and maybe some random questions such as "who will be first to score for England?".
Oh, and if Dean or Brian pop their heads in here, in the absence of any tangible prize for the winner, any chance of a custom status? Maybe?
Any other thoughts and suggestions?

thanks pixiestu, kind of, it was more the bonus points for group winners and the golden boot/winner questions really. I'm guessing it was 5 points for bonus Q's and group winners. I think I had said maybe ten for the Golden boot winner and 15 for the eventual winner of the cup, but I can't remember exactly. If people are happy with that (and I can't find my post) , we'll go with those.

Did anyone see the Panorama documentary last night on Sepp Blatter and Fifa, they're relationship with some Trinidadian dude. Apparantly FIFA scratches his back and he returns the favour with block votes concerning the FIFA presidancy. Sepp should have gone along time ago but corruption keeps him in.
I't's seems you've got mixed up in all the shafting to, pixiestu. |

I like the look of that scorelist Llama. But why had Iaquinta to score a second goal for the italians, I ask? Why ruin a so far perfect 1-0?
Oh and guess what:
It looks like I'm going to see Brazil-Croatia tomorrow live at the Olympiastadion here in Berlin!!
About three weeks ago I happened to be at the right time at the right place when a friend of a friend of a friend asked around for names she could add for a draw for tickets in the company she works in held. And I (well she, but with my name on the ticket...) won a ticket for that game. How cool is that?
I won't get the ticket before tomorrow morning, so there is still a little shadow of doubt. About me actually winning a ticket for a World Cup game. And with Brazil no less. But it looks good.

Thank you, Cheesman. I couldn't believe my luck a few days ago.
Still can't to some extend. But: I finally hold the ticket in my hands!
The city is full of brazilian and croatian fans. I'm going to be kind of neutral tonight since these two are really not my favorite teams. But I'm hoping for a good game with a little magic here and there and lots of worlcup atmosphere. |

Awesome. What are you going to wear? In case we see you on tv. Perhaps you could streak or something.
France is entering the competition today and everyone's so scared we're about to surrender right now. Who knows if Ribery is gonna hold up to the expectation. Oh, and it seems we finally know why Malouda won't play tonight, he suffers from haemorrhoids (sp). Ha! I can understand why it was kept secret.

You gotta cheer the underdog, kella. And Croatia's had a string of bad luck already, strange afflictions, and drama.
Look at Togo. Up 1-0. Go To,go!

That result puts me bottom :( I'll post the table after the Brazil game tonight *hopes*
Enjoy the game kelladwella, should be amazing. I'm not sure how anyone can not support Brazil, they exemplify the bautiful game.

I know, I know, but I have bad memories about the quarterfinals at the WC in France 1998. And I don't like their agressive, ugly, defense-orientated style. But hey!
And Denis, I'm going directly from work to the stadium. Now. And I wear the "Original fb.net Shirt"! So if you see that... I sit in the upper ring just left from the big (not the little!) video screen. I doubt that this sector will be in the center of attention.
Gotta go. |

I like Gary Lineker's comment before the match about the French team
