So what's up with The Catholics? Lost in Limbo? I like HONEYCOMB a lot, and am glad to see the Pixies kickin' the shit out again, but it would really suck to lose FB & The C's.

Frank Black has turned a page. Again. That's evolution.

too bad honeycomb man I love it, still love it the titletrack is one of his best produced songs too (although I am more of a Nick Vincent guy, Tiven sure knows how to combine instruments!)

When I saw the title of this thread, it reminded me of the old 'Public Hearings of Frank Black' thread. |

I'm with you billgoodman. In fact I'm gonna say something that's probably gonna get me ostracized by the majority of this forum, but in a lot of ways I prefer Honeycomb to the much heralded Teenager of the Year. Teenager has a lot of great songs but it has a certain saccharine element to it whereas Honeycomb is more of a "let's not practice the songs till we're sick of'em" type of thing. Recording like that does have it's virtues and I think if you are a musician you can maybe appreciate that concept a bit more.
My opinion anyway. |

Surely Darwin knows the elusive answer to the 3rd evolutionary stage of Frank Black? |

No, no, no. I didn't mean it like that. I said MAYBE. And equally, MAYBE I'm completely full of shit. It's just a thought I had. |

I was just being snarky. I bet musicians can appreciate more the talent it takes to quickly pick up a song and play it well, but I think I prefer a band that knows each other well and has worked out a song together. |

Maybe he'll grow wings and fly away. Garuda should be of assistance in that regard.

Frank's career is like a honeycomb. He's the queen bee, and the musicians he works with are the drones. If you kill the queen, the worker bees get confused and run around helplessly.

But Scott and Joey reproduced. Plus, only Kim is female. I doubting the validity of this intriguing theory. |

Wouldn't reforming the Pixies actually be "de-evolution" then? |

I think the Catholics and Pixies are gonna mould together to make a big robot superband, like on Power Rangers.

Because having three Davids in one group would result in Critical David Mass, which has been known to lead to explosion.

And why don't they just go get the big robot to squish that annoyingly bad lip-synched evil woman and end the whole charade?

I have to wonder if the theme song was better in the original Japanese.
