I was watching the DVD and while Danzig "Twist of Cain" is playing in the background, it looks like FB is making some hilarious imitation Danzig facial gestures (either that or he was "thinking" really hard). If you've seen the "Twist of Cain" video, you know what I mean. |

That was my favorite part of the dvd. If I remember correctly it looked like Joey was genuinely rocking out to it while Frank was mocking the seriousness that Glen exudes when he's singin' his rediculously entertaining lyrics. |

With a name like that, evillive, your obviously a fan yourself!! I don't know if he was/is a fan as such, but I'm sure he has very broad musical tastes. |

You've outed me. Huge Danzig fan even though he could stand to lighten up once in awhile. When I saw FB on the DVD I nearly launched my beverage through my nose laughing. Especially the "shooting up" bit. That's why I love FB's solo gigs at places like McCabes and the Knitting Factory. We get to hear from him and he is one hilarious dude. He was playing "So Hard To Make Things Out" and when the song changed tempo, some of the members of the audience started clapping. FB smiled and said "It's still the same song". Classic. |

i've seen frank live with the pixies and the catholics and frank can seriously rock out at times. the man could go toe to toe with danzig, motorhead, and venom- all at once. is frank a closet metalhead?
i've been know to spin danzig the odd time when mrs. fu goes out for a walk. (actually my favorite danzig tune is very undanzig like- "you and me (less than zero)" from the movie.

Before Trompe Le Monde came out, I believe there was a rumour doing the rounds that it would be 'heavy metal'. Planet Of Sound kind of added to this, I think! |

They were heavily influenced by the Ramones so I would imagine FB is at least partial to the Misfits. I would love to hear FB cober "Comeback".

nice choice with "come back". somehow even with all the horror business in the lyrics there is a flat out joy in singing along with early Misfits. by the way i happen to keep all my sleeved Frank ep's (hello club, ect.) in my Misfits Coffin Box set so that they don't get all beat up, it just makes sense.

Yeah, FB mentioned in interviews that while they were recording TLM, some 80's hair metal band (Whitesnake? Def Leppard? I should look it up) was recording their album in the studio next door, which inspired the Pixies to make an album as loud & heavy as possible themselves, to show that hair metal band how it's really done. FB jokingly added that in the end, that band had to come over to their studio to ask politely if the Pixies could please turn their volume down, because could even hear their massive noise in their own studio. |

I think I may have heard that before, that they where recording next to some glam metal band. There are certainly a couple of tongue-in-cheek metal moments on Frank's early solo records-Los Angeles, and the intro to Hostess With The Mostest! 8D |
