Have you guys read about/watched this show?
It premiered last night..
I'm not usually into reality television, but this show has artists perform contemporary, as well as classic rock songs in front of a live audience. I don't know, it seems pretty cool.
I guess it helps that my brother is on the show...vote for Neal Tuesdays!!! |

i think the people with the 3 lowest amount of votes (voted on every tuesday night at http://rockstar.msn.com), have to perform an INXS song to try to remain on the show.
Other than that, they play songs ranging from Janis, to the Stones, to Nirvana... |

While Dave Navarro and his various 'side projects' have always had amnesty in my book (because deep down there lives a little 14 year old girl who just found her hormones and just can't get enough), I think that show is going to reeeeeeeally push the boundaries.
So very silly, had to just turn it off.
and to have the nerve to do a cover of dylan and janis.
pft.

Is your brother really on this show? Cause now I feel bad about making fun of it in this thread.
And really Chip, how is this different from American Idol? Kurt Cobain is doing back flips in his grave. And I cringed during the singing of Heroes and Smells Like Teen Spirit.

yeah he is, and it really isn't all that different from American Idol, its american idol with rock music. And if it's not your thing..don't feel bad about expressing that. god knows i don't want reality tv. but i'm obviously watching this one, and when compared to what i've seen from other reality shows, i'm glad he's on this one.
Darwin,
After considering the morality of a show like this, I came to a similar conclusion. The singer didn't want to be alive, making music - and the band does. Simple as that.
on that note, vote for Neal tonight if you want to support a huge Frank Black fan - HaHA! |

Neal is the only one who seems to really have the capacity to be a rock frontman. The other people are really bad and the girls are just eye candy for the most part.

Well, I fully admit I am digging this show except for last night.
chip away boy.......I am so sorry your brother got voted off. I was in shock as was my husband, and this morning several people that watch the show that I work with also were very disappointed Neal was no longer in the running. But...I have a feeling that everyone will be hearing from him in the future. Please tell him a bunch of people in Oregon wish for him the best! |
