A companion thread to the bad smells thread.

What are some of the weirder things you've ever seen?

One hot afternoon (in Ibiza, Xavier!) my friend and I sat down to lunch and immediatly gulped down a couple of glasses of water apiece. Then we noticed all these tiny white worm swirling around in the water pitcher. It was the grossest thing you can imagine. I still shudder thiking about it.

Ummm..ok, I have a REAL winner here.

Back when I was still living with my folks (way back), they were out of town so naturally I decided to throw a party. To make a long story short, a big fat trash bag with beer refuse, some old McDonalds trash, and just general nastiness sat in the backyard waiting to be disposed off on 'trash day' (that Sunday). It rained pretty constantly that weekend, so I think the rainwater permeated the bag and soaked the contents pretty well.
I was out there on that last evening, getting ready to lug the trash out front to the bin...the bag was so heavy with trash and rainwater that when I picked it up, it tore open and the contents spilled ALL over the concrete edifice in the backyard. Just strewn about everywhere!....so I was just like, "Awww shiiiit. Ok." and put on some heavy-duty gloves and started recollecting all this stinky, rotting trash and stale beer remains.

Story not over.

It was dark out, and it took a while for my eyes to adjust. Suddenly, i noticed a hint of some strange, squiggly motion in the trash...as my eyes further adjusted, I was utterly horrified. Little maggots started wriggling out of empty beers, empty McDonalds boxes, and every single container that was in there. I leapt back in utter disgust, literally ready to puke on the fucking spot......and finally gathered enough courage to pick up the refuse and toss it away. What was left (ughhghghg) in the end was a huge, heaping pile of little gray maggots, just writhing around and piled on each other. I'm talking AT LEAST a hundred of them. You should have seen me at this point, I was cussing up a storm like a scared, disgusted, vulgar victim of something horrible (and it was truly something horrible.) What was my next step? I went inside, grabbed a can of Raid or some other heavy-duty bug killer spray, and not knowing what else to do, I went and just unleashed half of the can all over the heaping, wriggling maggot pile. I scorched them so bad with that shit that the maggots started melting, just wriggling around in horrendous death throes, and slowly starting become a pile of pasty maggot mush. (I know this is off topic, but the SMELL was utterly, utterly horrible too....I'm getting goose-bumps from the revolting memory alone).
I was so disgusted by this that I let out one last "UGHGHGHGH" and ran inside, leaving the macabre maggot pile out back and not wanting to deal with it AT ALL, EVER AGAIN, any more. I came to my senses the next day, realizing my parents would be at least somewhat pissed to see these stomach-churning remains in their back yard. So I went outside that morning to witness the most indescript, utterly disgusting dried crusty maggot pile that has ever existed. There were even a couple of stragglers/survivors that were still writhing around, caked in the mushy remains of their little brothers and sisters. I took a hose, and fucking sprayed that nasty pile for all it was worth. I'm talking thumb-over-the-hose pressure spray, for a good five or ten minutes. The result was only moderately successful, and I chose to rely on the baking sun and the possibility of some more rain to dispose of the rest of that mess.

I'm still traumatized by the memory of this sight.

This isn't that bad, but it freaked me out. A few weeks ago I was trying to unblock the drain outside, as it was overflowing. I decided to stick my hand in to see what I could feel. My wife in her ultimate wisdom offered me some gloves, me in my ultimate stupidity (masculinity;) declined :(

I put my hand in up to my shoulder and felt something. I thought, yeah, I've got the blockage. I grabbed it and pulled it up, only to find it was a dead and decaying frog - a big one. I managed to get it to the compost heap - there was spawn attached as well.

I couldn't get myself clean all weekend. I know, I'm a wuss.

It was a human and thanks to patient confidentiality I can not tell you the details, I may however have a photograph.

Which I am also sadly not allowed to show you.

You can tell it anonymously - no names needed. GP's used to tell me stories all the time. (which I can't remember.) See, kathryn's surgeon tells stories. Not that kathryn has a surgeon, you understand, er,...

I'm not so much worried about prosecution as my dad kicking my arse, and he would, he would slap me from here to sunday before I even got a kick in.

One of the saddest things I ever saw was when I was working nights in a home for old folks. There was this one lady with dementia who was a "collecter" by this I mean she would pick up things from all over the home and ferret them away in her room. One night she had something that disagreed with her and in the main hall outside the dining room puked up her false teeth all over herself. The staff stripped her in the hall and took her slippers and told me to go clean her off. So we went to the bathroom and I cleaned her and gave her a dressing gown, she was shaking because the floor was cold and she had no slippers on so I wrapped her feet in a towel to help keep her warm. In the time I'd worked there she'd never said anything sensible, and with tears in her eyes she said to me "Why can't they just leave me alone, a little house on my own thats all I would want" and she cried and cried and cried. I didn't know what to do so I held her hand and said it'd be ok and that she'd be ok and she looked at me with such a sad and helpless face and said "No dear, you know and I know it's never going to be ok now" and started crying again. So I sat and held this little lady until the other staff came back with clean clothes by which time she'd slipped back into dementia confusion and she never talked sensibly to me again.

It was very sad, I cried when I got home the next morning.

I don't think she was lucky really, I lied to her, I knew it was never going to be ok and I knew that in ten minutes she'd forget those feelings so I lied. I didn't like it.

But you were there. She had a connection with another human being, you were kind, you made sure she wasn't cold.

You touched her feet. That is a loving gesture.

I knew a girl who had a baby when she was just 5 months pregnant.
It was alive for a couple hours and then died.
She had a great big Ukranian orthodox funeral and here's the thing,
OPEN CASKET!
So here's this 5 month old fetus with transparent skin and probably the size of my hand decked out doll clothes.
I still don't know how I feel about it.

When i was in high school took a trip to a Spanish Navy observatorie, the oldest in Spain, it was very interesting, atomic clocks, sysmographs and all that stuff. We were back home on the train and was an intermediate stop before our destination. When the train started to move i saw a shoe between the rails and though to myself "it might be full of foot..", stupid me.. a little later a full human torso laid in the space between thw platform and the rails..I could not take my eyes from it until it dissapeared..That wasn't the worst thing, it took me more than half an hour to get home, it was lunch time and i did not react until my mom put me a couple of burgers on my plate..I went away screaming and was unable to eat for the rest of the day.. it was also the first corpse i saw in my life.

In the car accident I was in I saw my ex-girlfriend's legs broken and folded up over themselves. That was pretty weird looking. Very surreal.

One wine-soaked evening, I left the room to use the restroom, and came back to see my friend with her boyfriend's cock in her mouth, on her knees, in the middle of the living room.

I found her boyfriend to be most repulsive man EVER and so this sight to this day haunts/disturbs me.

oh yuck this thread is making my mind crawl.

when I was very young, my favorite pet, a kitty named 'sammie' got a bite on his neck.
No big deal, but the bite grew into a boil, which festered and then finally just sort of went away, and the only thing left was this......hole......in my kitty's neck, not a very big one, just a tiny little eraser-sized hole under which I could see the muscle move and it just made me ILL and to this day, I can not stand the thought of a hole in skin that you can see through.
it didn't heal all the way for weeks, and so the tiny hole got smaller but you could still make out that it was muscle moving even when it was very small.

BLECK

one more cat related terrible sight.
different cat, about a decade later at least.
my cat got out through a window and a week later, i caught him sliding his butt on the carpet like you'd think only dogs do....
i called the vet, who asked that i inspect the sphincter to check for worms, which i found, and to this day the thought of those little tiny white wiggly worms crawling actually out of the ass just makes me cringe.

oh i love/hate this thread. need a shower.

Those who find themselves ridiculous, sit down next to me.
