Let's pool our considerable collective fb.net knowledge and amass a list of every song Frank does by another artist.

Thanks in advance for your help, everybody. fbc, I know you're gonna be a major contributor here!

Off the top of my sleepy head:

Elvis Presley - Song of the shrimp

The Kinks - Better things
The Kinks - This is where I belong

Bruce Springsteen - I'm going down

Jesus and Mary Chain - Head on

Beach Boys - Hang on to your ego

The Beatles - Wild Honey Pie

The Sir Douglas Quintet -- Sunday Sunny Mill Valley Groove Day

Misc.

Include TMBG tunes from They Might Be Frank Black?

In heaven - I'd consider that a Frank song. Who did it originally?

Who originally did Breathless?

Dan Penn wrote Dark End Of the Street but did he sing it, too? I only know Frank's version, not the original.

Do I have all the HC covers?

Well, seeing as kathryn included Pixies covers;

*Watch What Your Doing-Larry Norman.
In Heaven (Lady In The Radiotor Song)-Peter Ivers and David Lynch.
Cecilia Ann-The Surftones.
I've Been Waiting For You/Winterlong-Neil Young.
Born In Chigaco-Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
I Can't Forget-Leonard Cohen.
Ain't That Pretty At All-Warren Zevon.

*Apparently, this was part of the purple tape sessions, but remains unreleased.

Theme From Narc covers the music from the original arcade game (an undated version has recently been released on the Xbox, Playstaion 2), but I don't know who wrote it. In it, you played a narcotics officer, blowing the shit out of drug dealers-apparently, Nancy Reagan officially endorsed the game!!

I have an old bootleg B-sides and rarities cassette that has an unnamed song-obviously, it's a cover, rather than an unknown Pixies song!!. Hav'nt listened to it in a long time, I'll dig it out and take another listen.

I can't find out who did Boom Chick A Boom.

I knew Frank played on a Gilby Clarke album, did'nt know they did a cover of Jail Guitar doors, though!!

Ewan MacColl did not write it for the Pogues. If memory serves me correctly, he wrote it for a play in the 1950s or 1960s. For those that are interested:

Also, although Burl Ives did sing Fare Thee Well, it was a traditional song collected by the Lomax brothers. It has several names, including Sad Man's Song and Dink's song:

The big hurt sung by Scott Walker?!! I would love to hear that! Where could I find it?

This song whose original version I do not know, is maybe my favorite cover by Frank Black... I love the way it is recorded and the echo on the voice... Arty Low-fi take!
I first thought this track from the Dog Gone EP would be a cover of the Bowie song "A Big Hurt" on Tin Machine 2, The idea pleased me a lot as this song was such an attempt to sound like the Pixies!
Listen to this one, it is so obvious...
