you people should be glad they even have a general topic section. This is the Frank Black forum not the "let's look at boobies" forum or the "what's you favorite ___" forum. Frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit sad if it disappeared entirely except I'd feel bad for the moderators having to spend the rest of their days trying to lock and delete general comments from the rest of the forum.
What ever happened to talking about Frank Black?
Give Dave a break. He has to draw the line somewhere. I think it's more than reasonable where he's drawn it.

| Hey, I don't want to fight. I've always enjoyed your posts and enjoyed the music that you posted, but I've grown tired of people telling others how to behave or feel and I thought it was hypocritical of you to dismiss the General Chat section ("wouldn't be the least bit sad if it disappeared entirely") when you've posted (even today) subjects unrelated to Frank Black in that section. |

I missed all this shit so I am not going to throw in my two cents about whats been going on... strange that Dave has been getting loads of shit though as he's always struck me as a decent chap.
I have to say though I actually come here more for the general discussion than FB stuff. At first I came here to get info on Frank but the discussion forum is what really keeps things interesting inbetween news updates. Would you really prefer this site without General Chat? It would make things pretty boring as inbetween news you'd get 1000 times more 'Frank Black is the saviour of the world' type threads... Plus there is only so much you can talk about Frank.
I like this site and therefore I have to give credit to Dave... That COF though is a wanker....  just kidding, where is COF / El Barto nowadays?

I refrained from getting involved and continue to do so, but I will also say that Dave tries to run a board with over 5000 members that is maybe a little above the standard fare for internet forums, as do Brian and I, and it can be difficult, mistakes can be made, and, given that none of us has been created in robot form yet, we're human and bound to a little emotion from time to time much as we try to avoid it, which can be harder than you might think. We all do what we think's best, we're all liable to the occasional overreaction, and we're all friends here, give or take, so let's cut each other some slack and let this thread finally die. I hope things are back to normal for everyone and if there's anything preventing it, I'd love an email, seriously. It's hard to manage things from here where I'm basically paying to volunteer thanks to overpriced internet cafes, but I try my best and thank goodness for Brian and Dave and everyone else that chimes in with suggestions, emails, news, and help (I think Tre deserves special mention for her ongoing DB effort). And of course thanks to everyone who's cared enough to write their opinions here and who care enough for what we try to make of this forum to keep things civilized even when angry.

Wow, I couldn't be more glad to have dropped out of regular particpation on this board, reading through this thread. Sure, MAYBE the thread got out of hand (I wouldn't know, I never read or posted in it), and yes, of course, Dave is responsible for the content of the board and if he wants to draw a line that's his prerogative... but the heaps of haughty, pious judgement in his first post in this thread reek from a mile away. That's all I have to say. I always suspected D.N. was a sanctimonious lefty* zealot, and now I know.
