You can color coordinate mine if you'd like. I am incapable of properly caring for the maintenace of cds. Iused to be meticulous about it but now if I listen to it it never goes back in the case.
It kinda pisses me off Companies just came out with those clear protective things http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1158201,00.asp that you put on your cds and they never scratch again. I always thought they should be made with those things. I'm not going to go buy 400 of them and spend a month straight to put them on my cds. The man is always holding me down.

I am very tempted to put one of the new Cldplay songs on mine but I won't becasue I know a lot of people here don't like them. I think this song deserves it but I thought of Surfer straight away, throwing my CD in the bin (just kidding Nic, I know you wouldn't do that). It helps me make one decision anyway.

Homer don't you dare edit for my sake - I'm perfectly capable of skipping a track if I'm struggling with it. |

Sorry Nic, I did worry that that came across as blaming you for me not putting it on. I obviously don't, I am jst paranoid that everyone will hate it. To be fair I try to stick to bands that people don't know so much about, and they do not fall into that category. We'll see.

No, I want to hear it, Please put it on mine. I'll even agree to alter a track for you if you put that on mine. I know I'll like it. And I haven't heard enough of their stuff to form an opinion. All I know is they sound a "little bit" like radiohead

Well this one certainly doesn't sound like Radiohead but I tell you what, I'll stick it on. It made me cry today so I have faith in it.

Actually they probably do, knowing Mr Martin's insecurity.
I agree, they don't sound like them to me either.

I don't know, I thought they sounded somewhat similar. Of course readiohead have had a lot of sounds in the past 15 years.

If you were gonna compare them to one Radiohead song, then it would have to be Karma Police. That's about as close as they get.

I try to get little-known bands as well...my two mixes this time are not really planned...just stuff that came off of the ipod in really random order. i ended up with 94 tracks and just pared down arbitrarily--making a small attempt at flow, etc...if you no like-y, toss-y...won't hurt my feelings...
oh, and little-known bands around here could be major successes in your part of the world...know what I mean?

I was going to say the same. It has happened to me before. When I read in the papers about your top charts I actually don't know the majority of the bands in there.

That's true, we usually pick up on your bands before you do. I remember this band from Boston in the late eighties...............

No kidding. And there was this guy back in 64/65...weird afro. played an upside-down guitar. got two english blokes with perms for backup. who knew he woulda made anything of himself.
and, forgot to mention, Homers. don't edit...just put on what you want. if a coldplay song fits somewhere in the mix...do it, put 'em on there. I've only heard a handful of their songs. i'm looking at my mix and there are some famous names...prob. famous tracks that people will go "ugh...why'd he put them on here?" but they just fit or they did at 4 am after not sleeping for two days--know what i mean? |

Perhaps the highlight of my mix, the Dead Kennedys' Holiday In Cambodia
So you been to school for a year or two And you know you've seen it all In daddy's car thinking you'll go far Back East your type don't crawl Play ethnic jazz to parade your snazz On your 5 grand stereo Bragging that you know how the niggers feel cold And the slums got so much soul It's time to taste what you most fear Right Guard will not help you here Brace yourself, my dear Brace yourself, my dear
It's a holiday in Cambodia It's tough kid but it's life It's a holiday in Cambodia Don't forget to pack a wife
You're a star-belly sneech you suck like a leech You want everyone to act like you Kiss ass while you bitch so you can get rich But your boss gets richer on you Well you'll work harder with a gun in your back For a bowl of rice a day Slave for soldiers till you starve Then your head skewered on a stake Now you can go where people are one Now you can go where they get things done What you need my son...what you need my son is...
A holiday in Cambodia Where people dress in black You need a holiday in Cambodia Where you'll kiss ass or crack
Pol Pot, Pol Pot...
It's a holiday in Cambodia Where you'll do what you're told A holiday in Cambodia Where the slums got so much soul
POL POT

I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac and Mark Knopfler on one of whore's mixes. Looking at the track list I didn't get it.
Gave it the mix listen and it fit together very well. Felt a little guilty for prejudging.
I think I described that mix as being "mature" (Good thing)

3 in the mail yesterday, 3 more today...
the tracks are out of order by the way, most songs are easy to figure out by the lyrics alone.

Hmmm.. Aahhh... Thanks?!?
Actually I felt bad to put in a Fleetwood Mac "greatest hit", but when I first made my compilation I thought we were making our personal "greatest hits" compilation, so...
Anyway, I don't think that it's bad to have some well-known songs in our mixes. The one I have from floop have some nice famous songs and I had a great time hearing them again in a row.

I'm having a hard time trying to fit some comedy at the end. I'm just not sure of other people think songs called "lick my balls and then my ass" and "fuck I stepped in shit" and "fuck you ho" are as funny as I think they are. The mix has a good flow in my opinion for the 1st hour and then falls apart because I'm trying to fit 100 songs in 15 minutes... maybe I'll ditch the comical songs, even though they're awesome, some punk, some hip hop
Ever hear of the band called Shat? TI have their cd (the cunt chronicles) and it has 65 songs and I want to put them all in 10 minutes... help me

Maybe I'll just put one, they're only like a minunte or 2 at most. I feel obligated to put lick my balls on there because that's my catch phrase but it's not my favorite song of theirs

These songs aren't meant to be taken seriously, mine anyway. That's pretty obvious after the first line in the song...
You won't offend me. I've got that song.

Never seen anyone who's not a DK fan.
Am I the only one who still hasn't selected songs for his mix? I'm gonna be really late, I hope you don't mind.
