i'm still working on mine - i tested the mix out on m'lady and different tracks got better/worse receptions than i thought, so i'm going to rethink it today at work. i should have them done/burned/out by this weekend

me too...still wondering how much work to put into these mixes...i listened to the first one (parts) again this a.m. and my taste for those songs is pretty much gone. I guess i should just go burn burn burn and send send send. there's a fast forward button on all of your cd players, i'm sure. and you have my email addy if you wanna type out complaints. :)

my main problem is a problem that i cannot fix without totally changing songs: too many of these fade out, which to me, make for a sequencing that doesn't flow as well as songs that just end. something like 4 or 5 faders on this one, and that is too high for my tastes, but it'll do.

i've included a small representation of jersey artists, some jazz, some electronic, some funk, some indie rock and everything in between.

Kiki, a thousand CDs made by a thousand people could not cover all the great music to come out of the Garden State.

Cheesey, it's not the same if you're singing that in an English accent, OK?

Brian, rest assured that my CD will be a Bon Jovi-free zone, as are all areas of my life.

You know what I always struggle with the most? Deciding which is to be the closing track.

Few people realize that that's as important as the opening track.
Not that I struggled with either of mine....

I think I'm going to leave mine as is - I've been toying with it for what feels like weeks now. Still don't think it's as good as my last one, so those of you who are newbies will be getting that one too - this one kind of works along side it since it features a couple of tracks I couldn't fit onto the last one.

The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

can't wait then!

i always find i pick too many good first or last songs, mainly because i associate favourite albums with either the way they start or the way they end. most of you got a starting song of an album as the starting song of your mix, just which one?

As a CD swap virgin, I profess to getting a little weirded out by all the thought everybody else is apparently putting into this. I just burned some songs that I like, period.

i totally agree - my round 3 mix suffered greatly for too many first track songs. this one has way less. and i think this is the first mix i've done where the first track is not the opening track on an album. but the second track is.

and usually my last track is the last track of an album - this one is no different.

20 tracks, about 70 minutes, all burned, and placed in jewel cases with silly disc artwork, a tracklist and my standard explanatory sheet of paper. mailing out tomorrow, cross my heart.

I haven't put that much into it really. It's takes me about ten minutes to come up with most of it. I decide the order about 5 minutes before I burn, except for the opening track. I always nail that pretty soon.

It takes you about 10 minutes and then you nail it?

That's pretty fast. A little too fast, some might say.
