having just watched that, i have to say, that scene (where Yoda is dying), you can hardly understand anything he's saying. we had to replay that scene like 5 times till we could understand what he was saying. then, i continued to back it up, just to annoy the person i was with..
try watching that scene like 10 times in a row. it becomes amazingly funny after a while.

I am gonna be really really dissapointed if it's Leia unless she learns to kick butt like Anakin and Luke.
This is why I turned to the Dark Side.
But anyway, back to my Sith question. Where will they rise from in the final 3?
I guess floop WAS right!

i don't know if i understand the question mike - why do the sith rise again?
i would think that the sith are not interested in all in training a whole group of new siths, the way that the jedi would, because it is said that the sith are totally selfish. so, the only siths are Vader and Palpatine, and they are content that way, until Luke comes along. Vader sees Luke as his key to greater power (ie. overthrowing the Emperor) and the Emperor sees it as a chance to gain more power and replace Vader (ie. both for selfish reasons). So, instead of there being a rising of the Sith, i believe a Sith lord would simply want an apprentice, so as long as the lord has his servant, there is no need for an increase in the Sith.

The Sith used to be many, like the Jedi. But due to their selfish nature (as Brian said), they destroyed each other. Eventually one Sith came along who changed everything and said there would only ever be two, a master and an apprentice. Essentially, the master trains the apprentice until the apprentice grows strong enough that they want to be the leader. The apprentice kills the master and takes on a new learner. Palpatine did that (as he alluded to in the Opera House scene of ROTS), but instead of being killed by his learner, he had his apprentices killed off and replaced them with more powerful learners (although I'm not sure it was his intention for Obi-Wan to kill Maul. Though if Maul killed Obi-Wan, it's unlikely Anakin would have been trained as a Jedi at all. Though then maybe Palpatine would have trained him from childhood.... but I digress).
Anyway, all it would take for the Sith to rise again is for a Jedi to turn to the dark side, perhaps one of the Jedi Luke will train in the future. More back story on what happened with the Sith would be very cool, and Lucas has hinted at an "Episode 0", and this is supposedly what it's about. Yoda and the Jedi destroying the Sith (as referenced breifly in Ep. 1).

Did you guys know that Lucas' first choice to helm ROTJ was David Lynch, before settling on the late Richard Marquand to direct? Can you imagine what that would have been like? Lynch has always been my favorite director, but in this case I think it would have been completely wrong. However, it's fun to speculate. It probably would have been rated R here in America (PG-13 wouldn't appear until almost a year later with Red Dawn), which would have been hilarious. I'm sure this is why Lucas backed down on that decision. Lynch probably presented some very odd un-Star Wars ideas, along with, no doubt, some bizarre sketches and perhaps models.

Nope. Lynch declined the offer. He didn't want to direct a sequel and a film that wouldn't really be his own. |

I would love to see a Star Wars film directed by someone with a bit more vision than Lucas. Which is sad to say considering the 'vision' and creativity it took dream up the SW universe and it's characters and conflicts in the first place. This sort of thing is exciting though, like the idea of Quentin Tarantino directing a Bond film. Some fresh blood to give things a new feel while retaining the style of the classics.

Entertainment Weekly spoke w/ Lucas and he said originally he offered Ep 1 and 2 to Spielberg and Ron Howard - THAT would've been interesting...

Ron Howard has about as much talent as Brian DePalma...but at least Ron Howard doesn't remake everything his idols have made and slap a new title on it.

I never noticed her shoes before. They're like regular shoes, except silver, because it's a story set in space.

I have just thought that fantacising about Leia and Padme(sic) is taking the mother/daughter fantasy to whole new levels of excellence. Motley Crew would love it.

Ok, I just watched episodes 4-6 for the first time in the past 2 weeks.
I thought Return of the Jedi was maybe the best of all of them. Can someone explain to me why no one likes it as much? I cant understand that... It was so much more exciting than all the other ones...
And dont say its cause of the Ewoks because the ewoks are no more out of place in Jedi than any of the cute stuff in all the Star Wars movies... Star Wars is one of the cutest things in the world. Do you know how many times I went "awwww" because of some cute muppet thing, or r2d2 thing? These are adorable movies... Hell, the ewoks are better because they are psychotic savages who try to eat Han Solo

Jordo, I like ROTJ and think ESB is the best SW and the original SW (EP4) a bit weak.

I like ROTJ, I just think that TESB is much better, mainly becasue it's so dark.
I kinda like the Ewoks though sometimes they annoy me.
Anyone seen Caravan Of Courage? Now that was one sad movie!

I just watched ROTJ again, and I fast forwarded most of the scenes on Endor. I don't mind the Ewoks, I just find that part a bit boring. Espeicially the speeder bike chase.
