Hmmmm? I'm going for celery.
Opposites are usually similar in some ways. ie Up and down are directions, black and white are colours. So I guess it has to be a foodstuff, but all humorous and not so humourous thoughts gratefully received.

I did hear that a piece of dark chocolate a day can actually be good for you.

Same principle as wine - a little is good, a lot is bad. Simple really, Denis, I'm surprised you didn't get that.

Life is not worth living without wine and chocolate, often in that combination. Also, only red wine and only black (80 percent plus) chocolate. White wine and white chocolate are not real wine or chocolate.
Sorry, what was the topic?

Looking only at the title celery was my guess too. Eating celery actually burns more calories than you receive, unlike chocolate.
Dark chocolate is suppose to be good for your heart, like wine (and dark grape juice). |

I would say vanilla and chocolate are complements, rather than opposites.

always the diplomat aren't you?
i think chocolate and vanilla are mortal enemies. what else can divide people so completely? "do you want chocolate or vanilla?".. it's an "either/or" question.
and don't talk to me about chocolate/vanilla swirl. that's just unnatural.. and why would anybody want vanilla in their chocolage ice cream? |

I don't know the opposite of chocolate, but I suppose the opposite of brown chocolate would be white chocolate. Fuck chocolate, though! Carob is the way to go.

You get Neapolitan ice cream though, which has chocolate/vanilla & strawberry all together.
Whore, that pic is great:)
And Kathryn, you're right, there are few combinations in life as perfect as a good red wine and dark chocolate.

Well, I DO get immunity that way.
Neapolitan proves that chocolate and vanilla CAN exist in harmony. Well, except the kind where the three flavors are all mixed together. Then it's WAR.

Exact opposites!
And let's set the record straight on white chocolate: it is not chocolate, all the cocoa's been taken out, and what's the point of that?
