well, leia isn't really a jedi (in the films, but becomes one in the books when luke starts retraining jedi) - and luke isn't really a jedi until the end of rotj when he fights vader and doesn't kill him. so technically, from the time yoda dies to the time luke fights vader in rotj there were NO jedi knights. wow, never thought of it that way before.

how do i have a giflfriend?

She picked Luke and Leia cause in 4,5,6 her childeren are named Luke and Leia
She dies during child birth cause in 4,5,6 there's no Padme

haha
ok that was lame

I asume she goes for Luke and Leia because she likes the names
She dies because she's got no desire to live now that Anakin is a Sith

I'm not gonna lie to you, I am really wanting to see it again and cursing the fact that there are no nearby cinemas. Listening to the soundtracks for the movies is not helping my craving. I think when I get back I'll invite a few friends and we'll sit down and make a marathon of it. With breaks, of course, for pool and so on. But I can't wait that long to see Ep 3 again.

still not entirely sure what i think of it yet...it could have been really good-the first half an hour or so was great, and the special effects were superb but there was just so much stilted dialogue-padame and anikin with the i am blinded by your love scene, that i suppose i should have expected, just like a couple of HUGE plotholes that annoyed me (never ever go to a film with me unless its foolproof, i'll drive you mad i promise!), but there just seemed to be many things that didnt go and seemed to be shoehorned in just because they could and felt they should, the end half an hour or so really had enough stuff to make into a far more cohesive, in depth and entertaining film..but then im not the one with a ranch and millions of dollars

Seen it 3 times, (twice in the cinema) I liked it a lot. Great overall, but one or two things were annoying. The emperor pissed me off by laughing WAY too much & Vader's 'Noooooooooooooooooooo' sounded like principle Skinner.

Yes it was good. No it was not great. But it was like a rich dessert after two bad main courses. It finally was fun like the originals again. The dialogue was still childish and slightly confusing (and the actors seemed to feel the same effect). Every other line was "activate this", "activate that". Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" was embarrasing. That whole Vader suit-sequence was shoddy and hastily filmed. There should have been some background to the strangley rattled-off naming of the twins. Perhaps there could have been an intercut sequence of Padme and Anikin in happier times discussing what the name would be if it were to be a boy or if it were to be a girl. This could have been interwoven into Padmes birthing/death sequence, and it would have been nice if both Padme and Ani were sharing their death/transcending sequence in spirit, just to add to the tragedy (if it can really be called a tragedy). Why was Yoda so friendly with the Wookies? Why couldn't Yoda do some flip when he was hanging off the floating forum at the end? I felt no peril for him. Why wasn't Kenobi more jaded and defeated in spirit at the resolve? I always figured he retired off on Tatooine as a loner to withdraw somewhat pessimistically...not to delightfully talk to the wooden ghost of Qui-Gon. Where the hell did Palpatine pull out the name 'Vader'? I always hoped there would be some sort of background to this. Why was Mace Windu so reluctant to bestow the Master title onto Anikin...even after Anakin suceeds in his spy assignment on Palpatine? Seems Windu was just an asshole and could have avoided a LOT of mayhem by doing this. The Jedi council really did drive Anikin to the darkside when you think about how they ignored him most of the time but were so quick to punishment. I'm sure however, this was Lucas's idea. Speaking of Lucas, he seemed to have NO reign or control whatsoever over Ian McDiarmid's acting choices. As much as I enjoyed his this-is-how-Pacino-would-have-done-it-nowadays performance, it seemed a bit too Wicked Witch of the West. And did anyone notice how weird Hayden Christensen's hair was? I know this is just a cosmetic question, and doesn't pertain to any Star Wars integrity, but his hair just looked awful. And last but not least, does C3PO seem to get gayer and gayer with each film? Anyway. These unanswered questions aside, it was a good enough finish to a dismal beginning.

Saw it yesterday, and was thoroughly thrilled, although there were plenty of cornball moments. And Episode III is very episodic!! Loads of melodramatic scenes illustrating Anakin's degeneration, it felt a little jarring at times. But overall, it was quite clever and exciting. I have to say, I thought the light relief in the first 20 minutes or so actually worked this time around, for some reason. And I loved General Grevious! The way he runs around like a cartoon vampire, with his hands tucked in and his cloak trailing!! And the helmet being lowered on to Anakin's head, the way he stares alomost in horror(great shot). And I did'nt expect such a big Yoda scrap! Yeah, it was flawed, but what the hey, I really enjoyed it!!

Oh...and why did Anakin's eyes mysteriously turn red after he went over to the dark side? Do all Sith have this power when they are really mad or evil? Don't get me wrong...it looked pretty kick-ass...but does this mean that Jedi can turn their eyes green when they feel especially happy or really really good?

I think Anakin just decided to wear contactlenses bRIAN to suit his new image better.

What you are saying is ok, but it's Star Wars I believe lots of those flaws are in the original trilogy too. SW is cheesy, always has been. But you have to say that from an historical point of view that Star Wars was a breakpoint. Look at merchandising, Lucas got the rights for peanuts, lots of people didn't believe it was going to skyrocket, it did. Star Wars was one of the first blockbusters, not the first megaselling film of course, but after the huge succes movie companys tended to produce less films but make them a lot more bigger, special and appealing to the masses. This instead of producing lot's of movies for small groups.

This is what I learned in school...

With ROTJ brought many problems...however, Star Wars could have no faults whatsoever. Yes it was episode four (I still hate this 'episode' title thing), but it was the bible for what would be and what has been. If any future story loop-holes cropped up derived from Star Wars, their faults lie in bad story writing NOT relating to Star Wars. Yes Star Wars is cheesey (it was cheesey when I saw it back in '77!), but it was fun in all senses of the word. And it didn't leave you feeling jipped. Revenge of the Sith didn't either...well at least not as much as PM and AOTC. That's all I'm saying. And as hokey as Luke is, NOT ONE CHARACTER OR ACTOR IN EPISODEs 1-3 WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO MATCHING THE CHARISMA AND COOLNESS OF THOSE IN EPISODES 4-6. Period. Sorry, that's my opinion...and I'm NOT just saying that because I saw the originals first-run. They are simply better. But I did like SITH okay. Now I'm ranting with no real point.

As good as McGregor is, he is no Alec Guinness! I liked McGregor's idea of a young Obi-Wan, but he was always trapped in an outline which really offered an actor of his magnitude nothing but the chance to become another actor. He was good, but...no dice, Rocko!

If you fly with Virgin Atlantic you can find Star wars airsickness bags in your seat pocket.

They issued four different ones.

Funny that Virgin Atlantic was chosen to advertise the latest Star Wars since their aircraft can only run the Kessel in 3 as opposed to 5 parsecs!

Sad to admit this, but it is actually both. If you are comfortable being exposed to geek, read on:

The main space lane to Kessel, where illegal spice is run, skirts around a Maw Cluster, basically, a bunch of black holes. The closer you run to them, the more speed you need to not get sucked into their gravity wells. Which is obviously dangerous. Even for fictional characters. So making the kessel run in less distance or time both imply a fast ship.

Luke...I am your mother. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

(a line from DV in TESB cut from the shooting script. This helps to explain just why Luke really does throw himself from the catwalk, but Irvin Kershner felt Lucas was too ahead of his time for the then modern audience)
