Thanks so much again starmekitten for the info on posting pictures!

I am home sick today and just couldn't lay in bed any longer. Let's see if this picture posting works. Here is my tattoo....I tried to get a close shot, but it came out pretty blurry. I also see I need a color touch up.

Body part. We need to know which body part that is.
My god, people, I spend hours accumulating the list of
rules for this thread and...oh, sorry. Hey, good work
posting that. You did it! Where on your body is that, MK?
(I hope you feel better soon)

sorry....I talked about it on my earlier post, but should of restated.

It is on my right, freckled shoulder (and can be covered with a bra strap if needed). I designed the tattoo along with the tattoo artist "Fish" The rings represent movement and dance and also are chakra in order. The third ring is the belly button where it is thought women hold their emotions. I had my birthstone placed in it. blah blah....other meaning for me...blah blah...

That's groovy. I don't have any tattoos or desire to get
any.

Good work on the contorting and pic posting Moselyk.

One question I've been wanting to ask everyone who does have one is what made them get one in the first place. Was it just a general desire for one or was it to mark a point in your life? Was it simply a graphic statement? Do you want more?

And - what made you decide on what to get?

Here you go Nic. I was supposed to retake the arm shot but I forgot to turn my charger on so my batteries are still not charged. Will do soon though.

Mike, I like the yellow color of your wall. Very tasteful.
And who is that playing the guitar in the picture on the wall?
Also, what do the tattoos say?

One of my other tattoos. Not a 69. It's the glyph, which is the symbol for Cancer.

That is my lower back, Mr. Man.

Have you ever seen the SNL skit with the moms getting their "sexy lower back" tattoos burned off? That cracks me up.

i got mine in '89, not everyone had one then, i was the only 16 year-old i knew that had one. i have to admit billy idol had something to do with it. i wanted it for years, like since i was 13/14. i picked something that i felt couldn't be dated....i got a dragon, mix chinese/japanese on my upper right arm and spent more money designing it with the artist than actually getting it done. the colours are still awesome and "i plan to sleeve it".

my second tattoo i got done with a friend on a whim and i regret it. it is a borneo arm band (think red hot chili peppers circa '92) and i fully plan on covering it up.

i have plans for a 3/4 back piece and half-sleeves. the back-piece is going to be japanese style but instead of a samurai fighting a dragon it will be a scotsman (wearing the family tartan) riding nessie in to battle-like, in one hand he will be holding a shield with the family crest (which is pretty cool, chevron, two wolves heads and knight helmet)the other a staff with a flag with the family motto "spero meliora". and then shoulders and arms will have other 'mythical beings'...giant squid, sasquatch, and maybe seahorses and sperm whales (at sleep vertically). the wind will be swirly and have maple leaves in it instead of cherry blossoms.

i have this great drawing of a whale my daughter did as a six year-old that i want to put on one of my calves.

Shine - that sounds gorgeous and I love the idea of having one of your daughter's drawings as a calf piece - please show me pics when you've had it done.

That looks like Pisces, my sign. It's very nice though.

Kathryn, the tattoo on my stomach means music and the one on my arm means dragon.

The girl holding the guitar is Charlotte Hatherley.

Pisces symbol is two parallel swoopy lines with a bar through them.

I got my tattoo as a present for passing my GCSE's before I started college so I'd have been around 16, thats 8 years ago now and I still like it. I opted for the star because of the radiohead reference (a band tattoo without being obviously a band tattoo) and because I liked the sketchy look of it. Don't regret it a bit and I've been thinking about the next one ever since the first one, so I take it pretty seriously.

Hopefully this summer number two will be done.
