quote: floop Posted - 05/10/2005 : 16:53:43 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- are you one of these guys who thinks that violence in movies causes violence in real life too?
I do think a lot of films seem to be made to the purpose of conditioning people to be more accepting of violence. I mean itīs not like they make Schwarzenegger films because theyīre any good.

I find it strange that there's always debate over doctors who perform abortions but not enough women know about stuff like this;
http://www.eco-action.org/dod/no10/bodies.htm
Things like taking a few extra birth control pills can cause an abortion. Taking mega-doses of vitamin C can cause abortion. A ton of herbs like blue cohosh etc.
Noone talks about these things it seems like.

I don't know how that one works. That's why I think we need more open info about these kinds of things. Instead of putting women through such turmoil and ridicule. I mean really, women have been doing these kinds of things since the beginning of time.
I did read that the vitamin c will create an acidic environment in your uterus and if taken early enough it will prevent the fertilized egg from implanting and it will just wash away with a regular period after a few days.

Carolynanna. That was a cool link.
Definately, women should be more empowered to discuss and treat health issues.
But the caveat is some women have actually died from herbal remadies. The best way to prevent a pregnancy is taking the morning after pill... basically birth control pills in higher dosages. The second safest method is the d & c.
I really don't know about the rasberry leaf or vitamin c methods.
I support a woman's right to choose, and unfortunatley this is being taken away and women are being forced back underground into the back alley days. |

No way! Birth control is an affront to God!
Do mules even have sex, when not forced into it by people like this guy? I know they're sterile, so they wouldn't have the drive to reproduce, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean they're incapable of sexual activity.
quote: these extremists make no sense. taking it upon themselves to divvy out punishments they see fit?
Exactly! If God disapproves of something, can't He do His own dirty work? Why would He count on wackos to do it for Him?

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the book, Freakonomics.
Here is a surprising statistical fact, take it however you like.....
When abortions are performed, the crime rate actually goes down. |

I saw the author of that book on The Daily Show and it painfully reminded me of how economists work. They throw every variable they can think of into a statistical model and when they find a correlation they write a paper (or in this case publish a book). This guy didn't give a damn that he had no idea why there was a correlation and dodged the question when Jon Stewart put it to him.
Sorry for this detour. Now back to mule sex. |

A good economist explains 90% of the phenomenon with random variables, and leaves the remaining 10% for his next article.

That's what they call them here. Well, in the rural south anyway.
It helps to give it an anthropormorphizing name if you're going to be intimate with it I guess. |
