seems to me that we have an epidemy of compulsive post addiction which escalates day after day, so since i'm worried about the mental health of our beloved forum members i declare saturday 9 april 2005 the first post nothing day. all of us must should post absolutely nothing and possibly not even log in the forum to see if others posted or even better try to stay away from their computers for all day if they don't need it for professional reasons. then everybody could describe what they did with the time they would have spent here.
it should be relatively easy since it is saturday. take care of your garden, walk the dog, work on your car, go to the beach or your local pub do whatever just resist posting. a fisrt step to fight your addiction.

Not that I have a problem with not posting for one or more days, but I'll do it on Saturday.
The weather is so good and I have a lot of interesting things to do, so, it will be easy.
Maybe I'll go out to eat some tofu

i sincerely doubt that they will be news of that magnitude the next 2 days plus you do have the rich gilbert chat on sunday to wait for so no catholics reunion hoaxes are accepted as excuses for posting.

just to further rile the people who have pointed out my
high post count.

Mun, I am not saying that you have said any of the following,
so do not include yourself in what I say next, OK?
Since when did having a high post count become a bad thing?
Shouldn't participation count for something, especially for
people who have never flamed anybody on the forum and who try
to be helpful?
I fully realize that not every single post of mine is brilliant
or worthwhile, but I do mean well and I try to contribute
and I do feel that though this is "just an internet forum"
is The Man's unofficial official site and that means a whole lot to me
and to many others here. I love his music, I like
this forum and I'm gonna keep posting and I will not
be apologizing to anybody. If you don't like my posts, please
skip over them.

Kathyrn - Maybe some people think it's like going to a party where somebody talks too much. Even if one is not participating in a particular conversation with that person, the quantity spoken impacts the tone of the gathering.
At a forum, if one person or a few post a lot more than the others, it does impact the tone and topic of the thread. Even if one skipped over your posts, the thread itself has been impacted, idiosyncratically and disproportionately, ... again. Quantity impacts the quality or nature of a discussion. |

kathryn i never implied anything of all those things you mention. i still believe that this forum is just an internet place were everyone posts what he thinks whenever he wants. it's just an innocent experiment meant to demonstrate that this thing isn't as important, or at least it shouldn't be. i came with this idea after those numerous forumcentric posts like on the forum stats etc which imo stand for a certain lack of interesting things to say. take this as it is, another thread. don't be offended. i am certainly not offended or annoyed by your post rate or by anyone's forum habits for that matter. actually i do skip 90% of the posts here due to my laziness anyway.

that was kind of the effect i was going for. i've actually removed the space between my messages and my signature so it'll be more effective. with time, i hope that my new signature will be considered among the all time most annoying
