Why don't you just put the stake thru my heart and post that photo you always post of the endless Floridian sunshine and all the sunbathing fools?

Hey, thanks! Now I'm gonna put on my bulky LLBean parka and dip my chin and brave the cold all the way to the car and start the heater.

Hey, it's a trade-off. If you want to live where there's maple syrup to be had, it's going to be cold.

Although I should say that while it has snowed more since then and the snow will likely melt tomorrow morning/noon again, I didn't wear a jacket today, so it's not exactly cold. Just annoying.

Cof, that picture looks so good and so beautiful. how can you call it stupid country, even if those aren't your words?
Here is getting hot, it smells like Spring already, all I can hear is birds singing out of my window, and the sun is shinning.
If you could be anything that you want to be, do you think that you would be who you see in the mirror?

Well, it's sort of pretty in a way (white snow and green grass), but in another, more accurate way, when white is all you've seen since November, you're kind of ready for greens and blues and browns again. Though that is what makes me love spring here so much is the deepness of my appreciation for its coming.
For the record, the snow is still on the ground, the roads are icy in places, and there is more falling.

The idea of a Canadian winter is starting to scare me off of moving there. I'm freezing my ass off in England - how the hell will I cope in Canada?

Depends where you move in Canada. You were talking about Vancouver, if I recall, which rarely sees snow or quite cold temperatures. I think England gets a different kind of cold than we do, at least here in Saskatchewan/Alberta. There's very little humidity so the cold doesn't soak in to your soul. You just throw on a sweater and a warm jacket and you're good to go even at -40 (though at that temperature, you should probably have gloves too).
If you go to Toronto or Montreal, they have that humidity and while it doesn't get anywhere near as cold, you feel colder, at least I think.

England has this awful bone chilling damp cold (it's the end of winter and I've had enough now) PLEASE let Vancouver be better or else I'll have to find a way of smuggling myself off down to California.

Well, truthfully I've never been to Vancouver in the winter... if it did get cold, it'd probably be damp.
You could always move to Edmonton/Calgary/Saskatoon and avoid the dampness. Though Edmonton is the northernmost major city in either Canada or the world, I think. But Carolyn lives there. :)
And it's definitely dry here. :)

I know Kitten - but you've got to remember my idea of warm is still quite far from what today was like. 5 years on (or whatever it is) and I'm still trying to climatise.

i know it's kinda cheating cause i actually don't live there anymore, but up until 2 months ago, i lived here (and my mum still does): but this is a typical day in Taranaki, New Zealand - a bit cloudy round 18 degrees celcius, with about 75% chance of rain. man i love the place.

As do I. I could never live somewhere where it rains so much, (I live in the sunniest city in Canada here, so rain isn't all that frequent) but I'd love to visit for a month or two. Might even do it if I get done in Greece earlier than I want to (i.e. 3 months) and have some money left. Where are you living now, again, Benji? In the UK wasn't it?
