ok, library fines......
fucking library, i took out 5 cd's and i thought i had them for two weeks, but i returned them 9 days later and was charged $1 per day per cd (because they were only one week loans) for a total of fifteen bucks! i talked to the lady and she said "all i can do is take one days charges off so that will save you five bucks". thanks library! now i can't even renew or place holds on books because my account is over the $10 limit, bastards!
You can go eat a decroded piece of crap! |

I too loathe library fines. I rented a copy of the film The Commitments on DVD. I forgot about it for two weeks, and when I returned it it was a twenty dollar fine. Fortunately, they still allow me to borrow, although I haven't paid my dues.

I owe my uni library £25 and it's seriously annoying, it means I have to go and photocopy books rather than run in and run out with them, thank ford for pubmed bookshelf I say, I hate that library

A gardening thread is going to depress me. Last week I could see the spring bulbs starting to pop up, and now in the last couple days we've had 15 cm of snow.

I think it should be about the legendary but elusive Sasquatch. America's as of yet undescribed giant northwest ape. Or neandertal. There's some dispute on what it actually is. I'm going with Neandertal because of it's obvious human characteristics. What do you think?
There, that's the topic.

Gardening: I was really close to buying and planting tomatoes, but I'm lucky I didn't. We've had a small cold snap. I hope my cilantro survives. Damn slugs keep eating it. |

I think it should be about the 1980 Paul Lynch film, Prom Night, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Leslie Nielsen.

Gardening: Try surrounding your cilantro with some copper flashing.
Or, if you're cruel, drown 'em in sugar water.

Slugs: I've been tossing across the yard. I think it's raining too much for the beer trick and I'm too lazy for the copper flashing. I'll probably put out beer when it is stops raining. Wish I had some cheap beer. |

i don't think it makes them dissolve, they probably just shrivel up because the concentration is stronger on the outside so water leaves them to balance the concentrations. and so they dehydrate.

I used to help my grandad do it as a kid. He taught me to kiss worms though so I am not sure how his mind works (he's Polish).

I think I'll stick with that library fine topic.
I once checked out a book from my college library, and forgot to return it. During the summer, I realized I still had it out, and I ended up having to mail it back to the school.

me neither...grad school killed my crazy love for libraries...however, i'm starting to want to study and research more...nutsy, I know, but sometimes I feel like i wanna go to the library. does that make me more geeky or less so because I wanna become even more intelligent and learn and learn and learn?
libraries are a good place to find dates, tho...i did, anyway. |
