So somewhere about two years ago I finally get around to listening to some Pixies stuff a friend had burned for me, I slowly fell in love with it. So much so that I wanted to see how Frank's solo stuff sounded knowing that he was the Pixies main song writer. Around about the time SMYT came out is when I picked up the first FB & C's record, I could'nt stop listening to it. Same with Pistolero, DITS so on and so forth. So right after he comes out with SMYT I find this site. He's touring Europe! He'll be comin' here soon! Nope. Well with the Pixies yeah but I wanted to see him in some divey joint without KROQ booths and the like. Now he's got a kid and is ambiguous about the future of the Cath's, who knows how long it'll be. ARRRRGH! I know, I know...I hear the world's tiniest violin being played too!!! |

No, no, no! You got into Frank at a good time. And don't be fooled. His 'kid' can only serve as inspiration.
Two new records around the corner and Pixies alive and well. What more could you want?
You can kill the years of waiting for a Catholics return by catching up on Frank's solo stuff too. Have you heard yet? Most enjoyable. |

I've heard'em all except Cult of Ray, this one is difficult to find. I've heard it's the worst one but I'll form my own opinion. One nice thing about when I discovered the first FB album is that when I was ready to go to the next I knew there was many more to move on to. They were like all these treats ready and waiting for me at the record store. I had to discipline myself to not go out and get'em all at once, otherwise I knew I'd be locked in my apartment for months like a junkie! |

Cult is both positive and negative here. There's something for someone in all the records, and If you liked the other two, then i'm sure you'll enjoy this one. I caught up with Frank between 'Teenager' and 'Cult', so like you I had the pleasure of buying a few albums rather than just the latest release. I remember buying TOTY like it was yesterday, standing in the record shop with the album in my hand, just standing there staring at the 22 tracks (how many?! I know. What a treat) trying to see if I could find some hidden clues in the titles that would give me a hint to the sound I was about to witness. The first track I so desperately wanted to hear was 'Whatever Happened To Pong?'. What sort of name was that for a song? A f**kin' unbelievable one that's what (pardon my french! the fb stirs a passion inside). What an education. Some of the best music I have ever had the pleasure of listening too. Still stands true today. Hope you enjoy the site (not that you need my word to do so) and find it the fountain of knowledge that it's been to me. You'll here it all here first. See you around.

I am chomping at the bit to hear Honeycomb though. I very much enjoy Franks countrified stuff and from what I've read it's more in that direction, but I wanna wait for the official release like a good boy-not like some o' you cheaters!:) |
