i was 13 and i saw weezer at the riviera in chicago. it was 1996, pinkerton tour. considering they were my absolute favorite band at the time, i'm pretty satisfied with it being my first concert.

My first concert that was actually in a real venue and all was Weird Al, in my senior year of college. The venue where he played, the Valley Forge Music Fair, is no longer there.

Umm, at age 13, my first real show was a Reel Big Fish show. Before then I'd gone to a bunch of local punk shows either at people's homes or in some cafes.

Gah, I think mine was Simple Minds at Ibrox Park. If my failing memory serves me well they were supported by The Waterboys, The Cult, In Tua Nua and Love & Money (?).

In retrospect, all of the support acts are far, far better than Simple Minds ever were.

Jane's Addiction, 1991.
Huntington, WV.

Sophomore year of college.

I dislocated my shoulder in the pit and spent most of the gig at the hospital.
I never got in another pit drunk on Cisco wine.
In fact, I never got in another pit again and I never got drunk on Cisco again.

My friend's mother took me and him to see The Osmond Brothers at the Baltimore Civic Center circa 1973. I was only 7. First concert on my own was Public Image at the Olympic Auditorium May 4, 1980.

The only way this will be trumped is when somebody says his first gig was the Pixies first gig.

I'll explode then.
Ok I won't explode, but I'll be all "man. bet that was rad." and stuff like that about it.

Hey floop. Now that I have successfully tipped you off, and you have edited your post to actually read 'Joan Jett'. Could you stick that photo in the 'beautiful women' thread please. There's a good chap.

Ya think you can make her switch teams, huh? Steve McQueen's
doing that to me now, and he's dead, so you should have no problem with Joan.

I think it would be appropriate to post photos of Joan
on the beautiful men thread. I wouldn't be opposed to that.
She's certainly cuter and less leathery than old, dead
Steve McQueen.
