Shine's arrived - it's genius, heavy and intrigued the hell out of the freelancer sat next to me today.
So far this round is looking like the best yet.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Cool! Hope you like it Toby. The Wrens are great. They said they were going to try to come back to Denton, TX this spring when they come down for SXSW in Austin, but so far no sign they're coming back, unfortunately.
I've got to say that all the mixes I've heard so far are so very different. This is turning out as well as I had hoped it would as far as hearing bands I've never heard before. There are already several bands I'm going to need to check out after these few mixes, and that's not even including our friends across the pond.
On song 14 of VoVat right now. It's been a perfect cd after a hell of a long Monday at work.

I am listening to Nathan's now (my second after Surfer's), and it has a BRILLIANT track by a band called Sugarplastic. I have to check this band out now.
Oh wow, that has finished as I am typing this and now a track by someone called April March is fantastic too. This is good stuff Nathan. |

mine is officially in the hands of the USPS. the dude at the post office was having a fit that i was trying to send out 14 cds yesterday to 5 different countries (i sent this and the genre mix out on the same day), and instead of being helpful decided to take as long as possible, and sell me individual stamps in 40,37, and 60 cent increments and have me put them on myself, as opposed to weighing one and then printing out the 14 stickers they usually use. the entire process took longer to send (ie. stuffing envelopes, labeling them, and then the FORTY FIVE MINUTES it took me in the post office just to fill out customs forms (twice because the guy gave me the wrong one) than it did to burn all 14 discs.
sigh.
on a happier note, i've listened to and thoroughly enjoyed superabounders, vovats and shineoftheever's. longer, better reviews coming later.
