For...

Mom & Dad: they've been going on about a new computer for a while so I got them a gift certificate from Falcon Northwest computer. What a touching gift for your parents, eh?

Sister: an Ovation Celebrity guitar. She doesn't play but she better learn.

Brother: an Archos video-photo-MP3-television recording gadget.

Sister-in-Law: Day Spa gift certificate

Niece: shitload of toys and for baby's first Christmas, a sorrento music box-jewlery box that plays "My Favorite Things".

Nicholas (friend of mine and awesome guitarist from Columbia who will be joining us on Christmas): an Ebow, which is a little electronic device used with guitars to make the strings vibrate near the pickups. I have one, it's cool.

Mike (music collaborator from Philly): the Tim Franklin CD and my undying patience (he's learning guitar).

That's it! What say you?

Mum :
- this gardeners hand cream stuff (yes she is a gardener, and it was bloody expensive)
- A little book of Mother and Daughters - Best Friends
- A fridge magnet which says 'The best man for the job is a woman'
- This really lovely candleholder, it like two hands shielding the candle...difficult to explain, but it looks good.

Now I do as I please and lie through my teeth. Someone might get hurt but it won't be me. I should probably feel cheap but I just feel free and a little bit empty. No it isn't so hard to get close to me. There will be no arguments. We will always agree. And I will try and be kind when I ask you to leave. We will both take it easy. But if you stay too long inside my memory, I will trap you in a song tied to a melody and I will keep you there so you can't bother me.

Pop: Built him a computer to replace old one. He's 81, but vastly enjoys e-mail and using photo and art programs. Family likes using it on visits. Was actually a paid assignment, but I went way over budget (using my own money to cover the difference of course)and built him a gorgeous, all black hot rod. Even has blue LED lights!

Mom: Mom wants my tortilla soup. A lot of it. So I'm going to spend a day making a huge batch for her freezer.

Preschool-aged nieces and nephews: Legos, more Legos, and old-school Hot Wheels track. None of that battery-powered mind-rotting crap.

My 12-year-old nephew with the new iPod: A 7-CD mp3 collection of music by every band he likes (and more), categorized by genre, and tagged meticulously. Also includes bios and reviews from All-Music Guide. This is part an music education project, part effort to get him through his Good Charlotte phase and onto good music as quickly as possible!

Let's see; I got a crapload of things.

For Dad: many Italian history books and also an art book on the Crusifiction.
For Mom: Two Beatles calendars, socks, and a pink Red Sox hat
For Best Friend: Sephora gift card and lovely Paperchase journal
For Best Friend #2: A Paperchase journal and a purse, plus lipstuff
For the kids in my life: Lego's, a Transformer, and a wooden pizza with magnetic mushrooms and pepperoni

Oh, I also bought the Life Aquatic soundtrack for my friend, and lotion for another friend, and books...

It goes on and on. Twas fun though! Can't wait to GIVE everything.

I'm with Transmarine. I tried to keep my grinchiness out of this thread, out of respect for the gift-givers, but since someone else was brave
enough to admit they're not giving gifts, I will fess up to it myself.

<phew!> thanks for that, Coldheart. I get nervous that my joking doesn't come across on the internets.

I have too many siblings/parents to list em all, and I won't bore you. This year we tried to go a little easier on the wallet/sanity though. I used to labor over the perfect unusual gift for each person, now my bros and sisses? are all old enough that they actually have things that they need (in college), so it's easier to shop for them.

It is somehow cosmic that i read this thread.

Any mention of coldheart's booty and I just magically appear.

On topic,
No one has gotten anything but my 6-year old son, who will get a Big Wheel that he damn well better like.

$69 overdrawn and payday is 12-28...gonna be a slim christmas...

Ok, so

Mum: black embroided silk chinese photo album and a hardwood three way photo frame (because I can't spend christmas down there we had a "Pre chrismas" during my visit. I took pictures of my brothers and Michaels Fiance and my mum and I even allowed one of me for the album and frame.)

Michael: Nas CD (Gods Son or something I can't remember)

Miranda: (Mikes fiance) she also got a photo frame in a surfer pattern stylee, she has lots of pictures so I figured that would be ok.

Daniel: Mallrats DVD (I think he was pretty underwhelmed by that to be honest)

My father and his missus I'm not seeing till january so they will get theirs then. I sent them a card though.

Pops: Same photos (sans my mother) in different frames. Due to a complicated family issue this is the first year my brothers and father are all on speaking terms for a long long time so he doesn't have many pictures in his house and I'm sure he'd like that.

Squeaks: Absolutely no idea. I though maybe books, I don't know. I need to think about this.

I got from my mother a bottle of gautier perfume, from my brother Daniel a CD rack from Mike and Miranda a 1930's style metal wall plaque advertising coca cola and pops got me a printer and a flash drive. Dad sent me a parcel up but I wasn't in to sign for it, I don't think the post office is opent tomorrow either. Which is a shame.

Oh and my housemate got me an Evil Dead Evil Ash figure

No idea what to get her either. Bugger.

I only had to buy for a few people and I got them "The Office" Dvd. My shopping took about four minutes on Overstock.com, the best damn website on the net.
Well, except for this one: http://www.british-cindy.com/html/site_joinme.htm

http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=1049544

It's hilarious! This newest box set has the two special episodes which are a riot.

Highly recommend!
